Curse grind hourglass - servants of the flame/Athena fortune

  • Is it still even possible to get curses with the hourglass matchmaking time. Feels like a problem😐 anyone else have this problem with hourglass matchmaking effecting the grind? even through different country timezones I understand but it feels like the hourglass is so dry all the time.

  • Its a lack of people participating. Most either have their curse/cosmetics they wanted, are too put off to try, or have been turned off by cheaters.

  • Almost as if the replacement for Arena is taking the same path of Arena... interesting.

I don't think timezones are going to fix it tbh, just gotta wait and hope that Rare does something about the state of the game in s10.

  • @gallerine5582 make it Less of a day 1 pl grind no one has the patience to do that anymore and add more modes to it there fixed

  • I agree with SoulStinger. It can be the lack of people interested in hourglass.

I left that mode months ago because the grind wasn't fun for me at all. I still don't like the idea of this PvP mode where performance and time are not taken into consideration, only the result of winning/losing. It's not worth it in my honest opinion. I gave up a long time ago because no changes were made to that and last year I expected it to go to the same path as the Quest Board, a permanent addition to the game but almost no one engaging with it. The difference would be the quest board not needed other players since it can generate maps by NPCs while in Hourglass you need an actual human opponent. It's a shame, I was looking forward for the ghost amd skeleton curses but after evaluating my time and enjoyment I had in that mode I decided to leave for good, not worth at all. Perhaps other players feel the same.

  • Not something I have fun doing so I stay away. I'm like lvl5 on both.

I thought stamp switching was supposed to be in now so people in empty regions could end up in more populated ones?

Is it that bad out there?

  • feels like the hourglass is so dry all the time.

This became a thing after 2 months. Before they started cracking down on Alliance ship sharing exp & those who gave free wins.
Once all the casuals or quick players got the curses they wanted, they all stopped playing. They got what they wanted.

  • What? I've been doing nothing but HG since I reinstalled earlier this week and I've never waited longer than 2 minutes. I do get matched against the same people and some of them are waaaay waaaay out of my league, but I don't wait very long to do it.

  • I have both curses and still try to play but I get either cheaters, not super common, but still there. The dude that runs for 2, no really just fought for 2 hours because half of you still “fighting” for your curses DONT FIGHT! You don’t have to run just because your ship is hit once, most of you that do this are “trying to protect your streak” of what?!?!?! ONE???? Then the minority of players are straight up fights.

I love the mode but get annoyed logging on to fight for 4 hours because people are afraid to fight in the mode. So it turns into 1 battle and I get off. I’m happy I got my curses when people were still fighting, not cheating, and not cheesing. I still stand behind Rare just removing it from the game, the curses not the mode. The community has shown it’s true colors all in effort to earn pixels and it truly makes me sad for the state of a lot of the community.

  • @walnutcoyote275 I play Hourglass fairly regularly and never wait longer than 3 minutes for a fight (although I'm usually matched to far more skilled players). Perhaps there are more people in my "zone" that play SoT?

They never should have removed arena instead just make new game-modes than a glorified X marks the spot in which people just camp the selling point. Before the end, crews realised it was easier to just sink other ships without bothering with the chests.
All I ever wanted was PvP without the constant maintenance of my ship, stick my crew against another on the sea fortresses and let us just duke it out, maybe dropping skulls for each death which we would have to sell to a teleporting phantom

  • I'd still play it if there were more modes, more ships in a battle and faster/equal supplying. Constant 1v1 against the same ship type and having to resupply for 10min gets boring fast. P.s. I'm level g108 and s201.
