Yo ho, yo ho, a pirate's life fer me...
Ahoy, there buccaneers! Who here wants to hear a shanty? Sadly, I can't perform one for you lot, but I'd certainly love to hear more variety in these shanties, so here are my ideas for some brand new shanties we could add. From brand new shanties, emotes, and even instruments, the new album's here, so sit back and tune your banjo (Because that's a shanty too now)!
Regular Shanties
These shanties are quite the selection, from a few pieces that already exist to new ideas that would fit in well for musicians and roleplayers alike!
-Tuning: For those who like to roleplay or simply can't play too well, why not tune your instrument with ths simple shanty?
-Raiderdance: As some of you may have guessed, this shanty would be inspired by traditional Irish riverdance music.
-Hoist the Colors: We all know it. Most of us love it. Just add it in withthe same Commendation that unlocks "A Pirate's Life for Me" and csll it a day.
-On the Warpath: Not many shanties fit all that well with battle scenarios, so why not give us something to play while the pirates who can actually shoot straight do their job?
-A New Dawn: This is the music we heard when we entered the Sea of Thieves from Old Sailor's Isle. We'll add this beautiful piece of art to your shanty wheel for completing all Commendations for "Maiden Voyage".
-Captains of Adventure: This masterpiece of trailer music will fall into your wheel after you buy your first Captained Ship.
Seasonal Shanties
The Festival of Giving has brought us some of Rare's finest parody shanties, from monsters that rise from the sea to fantastic pirate parties. So, from November to January, you'll temporarily be able to play such hits as:
-Deck The Hulls
-Call of the Bells
-The 12 Deeds of Giving
-and Captains of Adventure: On Yule Tides!
The Instrument Box
It's been, oh, so many years since we saw that beautiful fiddle in the very first Sea of Thieves trailer. But it has yet to appear, and adding it to our item radial now would make things rather complex. So I propose the brand new Instrument Box!
Unlike other Chests we have, this one doesn't change cosmetic appearance (we'll still use the Equipment Chest for that), but functions similar to the Armory, allowing us to pick which item goes in which slot. with this, we could allow new items like the:
-Fiddle
-Accordian
-Guitar
-Bagpipes(?)
Additionaly, this Box is only found in Taverns.
Shanty Singer Emote Bundle
And to top off our musical menagerie of additions, we'll add a brand new Emote Bundle! Currently, there aren't really any emotes that go well with shanty singing, but now there are! This bundle contains:
-Shanty Singer: Regular singing for your average shanty.
-War Shanty: Your pirate sings loudly, swinging their arms and pumping their fist in the air to encourage their crew forward.
-Poetic Piece: Your pirate sings as if reciting a poem or somber shanty.
-Rowdy Shanty: Your pirate does a small jig while singing, and swings their tankard in the air.
