I was playing the new pvp mode and was having a good time. I was nearing the end of a fight with my enemy almost defeated when another ship joined the battle. This made it really unfun as I had to do a 1 vs 2. It practically reset all the progress I had made on the battle. Could there be something to stop players joining mid way through the matches?
1 ship vs 2 ships in season 8
@scurvywoof yea, I am of the mixed feelings variety about it personally. On the one hand, it is very chaotic and "Sea of Thieves" like which is a solid fit for Adventure Mode. On the other hand, it is counter intuitive to all the efforts in developing a Crew/Ship/Skill matchmaking system as that is a lot of layers of balancing that they are accounting for but then allowing for that to be skewed in any number of ways.
I'm legitimately torn on it in all honesty. Which puts me in the camp of not caring if they leave it or tweak it. It is unique in what it is doing to say the least, and there is something to be said for that. It is a weird thing, like many weird things in this game that are somewhat unique to it.
Can be rough but that's the seas for you, I came out against a solo sloop yesterday to find a reaper gally nearby. The sloop left bounds and sank and gslly chased me, managed to kill the boarder that anchored me and led them on a bit of a time waste chase. I was tempted to red sea which isn't something I normally do but they got krakened so I could move far enough to invade next server. Karma lol
Had a really funny situation yesterday. There was a sloop fight going on and a reaper brig seemed to have jumped in on that action too. This poor sloop would've lost that battle outnumbered, but lucky for them, we came invading the brigantine. Had a fun 2 v 2 in the same space. I'm glad that such occurrences can happen.
@funnyqchen that would be a cool situation but spawning on a solo sloop and 2 brigs allied waiting for invaders is not fun. seen a lot of similar stories as well. i think alliances should be disabled if you have the hour glass active
