The new* main manu does NOT make sence! (*new means a few updates before its not new as the last update)

  • When the changed the new main menu i was happy becasue it looked better and it is more organized.
    This looks good:

It is organized, it makes sence and i don't have any complaints!

    This on the other side:

Why the tutorial button is 2x bigger than the Arena mode butten? I get that Rare are not planning of making any updates to the Arena but that does not make any sence (or if it does i would be happy if you write it down in the comments). I think the buttens should be as big as it's likely for the average user the click on them. The bigger they are the easier they are to be clicked. Why would someone want to play the tutorial more times than the Arena mode? For me it would make more sence if it was reversed. The arena one should be 2/3 button and the tutorial buttnon should be 1/3 of the normal buttons! I really though that this will be changed in the future updates when the update came but few updates later still no change and that's why i am writing this! Thank you for reading and thank you if you wrote a comment!

  • with an update as massive of a deal as bringing in Jack Sparrow it's going to bring in a very large group of people that have no idea what they are doing.

In my view it's entirely aimed at helping those people figure out how to get sailin'

The pirate's life option taking them right in front of the tall tales and the maiden voyage being so in their face that they are more likely to click it

the people that play arena are already established and it's a small minority of the players. They designed that for a much bigger chunk of players that generally have no idea what they are doing to try to minimize confusion for them imo.

Small minority, sure. Already established? Not what I'm seeing. I see new faces in there all the time.

Do we have regulars who have 100%ed Sea Dogs? Yes. But there are plenty of players, both new and experienced, who are still working towards T/LSD.

As for the OP, I think the two panels are too redundant. I get that they want to market Jack Sparrow, but they could have easily used the Pirate's Life artwork for the Adventure panel. Spawn people at the Castaway instead of in the tavern for a season or two. Problem solved.

If it were up to me, Adventure would have been 1/3rd of the screen, dead center. Maiden Voyage another third of the screen, placed on the side. Arena and Emporoum would share the remaining third of the screen.

  • @wolfmanbush I can see if they waned the new players to see the tutorial easier but i am sure that if you buy the game you are not able to play the game until you finish the tutorial!

Agreed, I see fresh meat chasing that LSD alllll the time.

You can...by joining a friend, or as soon as you started the maiden voyage, quit, then you can start a regular adventure

  • Ngl I agree that menu was a bad move.

You can just see how much confusion the APL mode caused in discord with people thinking they were safe etc.

Overall I just think it's sad how arena used to be something Rare was proud to show off and now it's became something tucked away in the corner (both figuratively and literally)

Is what it is though unfortunately :/

  • Those are the priorities as decided by the game developer. They have showcased those elements of the game where they want the gaming community to be focused. There has not been an update for the Arena in a long time, and that speaks volumes.

  • Just another bit of writing on the wall indicating that Arena isn't going to be around forever.

Arena will eventually go down as one of the greatest time-limited events this game had. Get your Sea Dog commendations while you can!
