Hi,
It seems rare to see some realistic and positive feedback on the game here, or anything other than suggestions. So I just thought I'd do a post to say that I was playing last night for a couple of hours and only saw one other player who was on a Brig who sailed over to help me fight off Ghost ships off his own back and with no communication. He sank them all as I observed him sheepishly and then sailed off and left me alone. I believe there were 2 players on his ship.
Of course if he attacked me (or vice versa) then either of us would have been entitled to do so as this is fully in the spirit of the game. But for the rest of the game I saw no one else and managed to turn in 11k easy.
I suppose it goes to show that you most definitely can play the game without having any PvP experiences, contrary to what others may claim about it being a non-stop issue of subjective "toxicity"...
A few weeks ago, (after having a session where I saw no other players at all) I was attacked by a ship who pretended to be "friendly" lol. It was my fault for letting them get so close and they set my ship on fire with an excellent shot. I managed to board them and kill a few of them, before getting killed myself. We played instruments on the ferry and exchanged pleasantries and they then sunk me like experts should. They fully out skilled me and were decent lads. Zero salt.
Well done RARE for creating a game that does exactly what it intended to do in providing a shared PvPvE pirate game- as fully advertised. Hopefully tonight someone will chase or attempt to sink me...
Cheers
