surely the reapers chests should be worth more money/doubloons and this would probably help add a better pvp aspect because barely anyone goes for the chests around the map because they simply aren't worth it .

@bumhair200 The problem is rather gold being only for cosmetics and once you have them all, there is no reason to get more gold.
Reapers will always go for reaper chests as it is the one of main factors to level up your grade and reputation fast and it gives the reaper crew an sense of direction and a chance to find an ship in their paths.

itThat really is no argument. Everyone gets too rich in the long run and doesn't bother about the chest then. That's an issue in itself. An important one actually, that needs some fixing, but a topic on its own.
Increasing the worth would make the players that are possibly interested go for it more often or intense. Thus creating more action around it. I find it too bothersome as a loot item that's mostly for cash. Because it often spawns very far away, especially around the edges of the map, isn't worth that much and can only be sold at the Reaper's Bones' hideout. I haven't reached the point of "too rich", yet... And still I don't bother much.

I might actually take the time to sell loot again if they implemented this.
You either need a new watch or a way to memorize where the barrels are (or are you waiting for the next spawn two times on an outpost ?).

That indeed sounds like good value. Must be my playstyle as Solo-Slooper that changes its worth for me. Reaper's Bones Emissary isn't really working that well for solo-play.
Solo-Play balancing would be another topic, of course, but not here. ;-)

it works for solo play I do it all the time so do many others
I do fleets and grab reaper chests with the reaper emissary all the time solo and I'm nothing special in pvp
Some servers you win some servers you lose but you can make A LOT of profit as a solo reaper just like you can doing everything else solo

You can PVE most reaper bones commendations other than the emissary flags and reaper's is the most profitable because everything sells there which helps a solo player a lot
Unfortunately less and less people are running emissaries so the grind for flags is becoming more difficult for players that are just now or have recently started grinding reapers
The pvers are running them less and the skilled pvpers are often not running them at all so some of the commendations will be a serious grind but for the most part I think solo reaper as a pver is still a great opportunity for profit.
If you aren't into intense situations you can always grab a reaper chest and just aim for level 3 emissary before turning it in. Won't take you long and you still get a nice bonus with it and people rarely even start lurking until you're grade 4
