Reapers Bones PvE Grinders

  • As we all know, the new reapers bones faction is all about PvP. However, I know loads of people that grind forts and other things since you can sell anything to the reapers bones even if it is not stolen. Some have gotten to 75 reapers bones without sinking a single ship. Rare, please remove the ability to sell non-stolen things to the reapers bones.

  • @jctc758 The only way that happens is if RBE become invisible on the map table (until RBE lvl. 5 that is).

  • Just will make Pvp vs PvE players, a new horror story if you do that.

    Making it strictly Pvp faction...yeah. Big No

  • @jctc758 I do not think that would work. What if there are no ships around? I can sail hours some night without seeing anyone. It would make ranking in Reaper's too difficult.

  • @combatxkitty I know. Very often I find servers with only one or two emmisarys. I just server hop a couple times till I find a better server and I can get about 4 or 5 flags in an hour or two.

  • @jctc758 just NO!
    When I play reaper, I attack other emissarys, but if I don't see any I rank up to lvl 5 with PvE, so I can see them and start PvP...
    Not stolen stuff gives you already less gold and xp...so it's ok

  • no thanks! there's a reason 'the arena' exists, adventure is there so players can progress despite the way they desire to play the game, be it by exploration or grinding voyages, hopefully it shall stay that way as well...

  • @jctc758 let the people play the way they want. In wich way someone 75 Reaper Bones level bothers you?

  • @jctc758

    I'm here to tell you that using loot to go through Reaper's Bones is a miserable grind. Finding Emissary flags is the way to go.

    My crew only picks up loot to get our Reaper grade up closer to 5. We don't care how it sells because it gives almost no rep.

    And this is fine, as Reaper's Bones should be PvP oriented, but I just don't think anyone can get to 75 very quickly at all with just loot like you're saying.

  • @seedeathmore The devs will never restrict PvP to only be in the arena. 'If you want PvP just go to the arena.' Just no. The adventure mode will never become a massive grinder PvE mode where everybody is in an alliance.

  • Reapers would be perfect with 3 changes;

    1. You can sell everything at reapers hideout, but you get 50% less profit for it compared to selling at outposts. Reaper specific loot is still full value.
    2. Any item that gives a crew emissary xp, is immediately and permanently flagged by the game as 'emissary loot for [ship/crew]'. It remains flagged even if they sink, abandon the item, or take down their flag. Any emissary loot that was already registered to a different crew/ship, can be sold at reapers hideout for 50% more profit compared to selling at outposts.
    3. One of three possibilities; make all reaper levels visible on them ap to other emissaries, but only in a small radius (just outside view range). Or allow all emissaries to see all reapers everyone on the map, but also allow reapers to see all emissaries of the same or lower grade (so grade 3 reapers can see all grade 1/2/3 emissaries). Or all emissaries can see grade 4 and 5 reapers on the map.
  • @groggy-mayles Loot turned in Reaper's Hideout gives you the same gold, but 1/4 of the reputation. Athena loot is 1/2 rep and Reaper specific loot keeps the same. Stolen loot gives you a faster progession to grade V, but worths the same when turned in.

    @JCTC758 if you want to do PVP, just do PVP... when has that been a problem? But sometimes you get in a quiet server and the only way to reach grade V is by doing pve meanwhile you're seeking other ships. Sometimes you reach grade V and there is not a single emmisary around... That sucks.

    Do not worry about the ways others play the game. Focus on yourself and have fun the way you like. Bear in mind, everything can be cheesed easily under alliances: legendary thief, FOTD, emmisaries flag. There's no way to stop that since this game is a sandbox and that's how it has to keep.

    Don't get mad, relax and enjoy. Go hunt and put several holes in some PVER's ship and make them spam you xBox messages if that makes you happy :D

  • Clarification on the above points;

    1. This would make grinding PvE a lot less profitable (and thus also give a lot less rank progression) for reapers. If you're going to focus on PvE, it's a lot faster and easier to get the other 3 main factions to lv50.
    2. This is purely and only to make loot stolen from emissaries more valuable for reapers. It has no effect on anything else; when you pick up loot that was already registered to another ship, it still gives you emissary xp, and your emissary grade bonus is still going to count when you sell it at an outpost. This change would only do one thing; give reapers a massive incentive to pirate other emissary ships, because the loot is worth a ton more than anything they obtain in PvE.
    3. These changes would simply make things a bit more fair for reaper players. Personally I've noticed that a lot of the time, I've already pirated most of the emissaries on the server by the time I reach grade 5, and there aren't any new ones coming in because everyone who joins the server checks the tables, sees a reaper, and server hops. I also think the reaper tables should not show the little boats.
  • @combatxkitty Just do forts and fleets, or regular quests, it work like a charm IIRC ^^

  • In which way does the way anyone else plays affect the way you are playing or enjoying the game ?
    I'm sorry but your sugestionis irrelevant...
    I'll add that the RB is not stricktly PVP, like the game itself, more like PvPvE as you can choose to play solo sloop RBE and still get a massive load delivered if you play good/sneaky enough... It still has challenge as you're visible while playing, at the mercy of anyone who wants to F you for good...
    Again, sorry but it won't happen...
