Teleport/Movement Exploit???

    So I just had the weirdest experience.

    Had just finished a Devils Roar Relic voyage and turned in at Morrows Peak, saw a brigantine heading towards a reaper chest to the south so I scuttled my ship and waited in ambush.
    So I sleep in a bush and keep an eye on the guy who jumped off with the reaper chest, and when I make a run for him he suddenly isn't there, and shows up behind me apparently having turned in the chest???
    There was absolutely no way he could have gotten past me like that unless he some how could either teleport or sprint with the chest in hand!

    Anyone experienced something similar?

    Sounds like a case of lag that's all. I sometimes come across players that seem to teleport from the front of my ship to the back etc. Nothing you can do about it buddy, it happens sadly.
    Good luck ambushing the next guy 😉

    Thats what happens sometimes on Outposts. Never happened on a different Island or on a Ship. My Crew and I cashed in but they teleported around.

    Outposts seem to be the worst when it comes to framerates and lag.

    Just yesterday, I fired myself from a cannon to block a fleeing sloop with a reaper's chest by landing near the tavern. The irony is that their ship made landfall 1st, so as I landed, they were all screaming through their headsets about how I was too late and that they had sold it. I saw nobody in the tavern, so I headed for their ship with the intent of blowing it up with a keg, but was quickly dispatched. In my final moments before traveling to the ferry, I saw them unload the reaper's chest from their boat... They had successfully lied to me and lured me away from the tavern. I quickly scuttled, quit the game, and smiled as I though about their genius psychological diversion.
