Joining crew member is new and must play intro - weird effect on already running game as well as introduction

  • There were two of us yesterday playing on a brigantine. A friend had bought the game this very day and joined our game. Since she hadn't started the game yet, she first had to do the intro when she entered the game, but she was already part of our crew. So we had a crew of three, two of them in the "real" game, one in the introductory scene.

Nice effect: she already profited from our sold booty pieces during her intro.

    Suspected unsightly effects:

    • I died and was trapped in an endless black screen. We suspect that this might be due to the constellation that she (and so our crew?) was still trying to finish the introduction. I had to close the game and rejoin.
    • she didn't find a ship in the harbor, but the introduction probably includes interaction with a ship lying there. Since she was part of our crew at that time, we guess our ship was == her ship. We tried to find out which outpost she was at, but she couldn't give us any helpful clues. Our idea was, if we would go to the outpost and possibly find her, she would complete the intro interacting with our ship. But we don't know if the intro actually takes place in the real environment.
    • somehow she could finish the intro and was actually on our ship.

Very strange. We informed the support about it and want to let you know, too.

  • The Onboarding is a strange process for new pirates.
I've suggested having a more structured narrative before where you learn things in a more single player enviroment but then you'd need to also introduce a choice to either start the tutorial or just play.

  • @goedecke-michel I'm not sure if it's for everybody...the first time you start probably at Ancient-Spire...also had this in the insider
