Hey!
Basically just toyed around with an idea of a new skeleton type, since we haven´t had a new land enemy yet, I thought the game could have atleast one more type of skeleton to heat it up a bit when it comes to the enemy department. (pun intended)
My suggestion isn´t that original, but I think it is quite logical as a possible next addition to the world of Sea of thieves, based on what the media of the game has teased/shown before (Captain flameheart, anyone?).
How these fire skeletons would behave, their strengths and weaknesses etc. in my mind would kinda look like this:
Fire skeletons has two states, much like the golden skeletons & shadow ones:
Fire & soaked/extinguished state, both that indicates when the skeletons are at their strongest and weakest respectively.
During the Fire state:
- Players that are close to the fire skeletons will be burnt slowly, losing health. A damage over time, area of effect kind of mechanic.
- Immunity to gunpowder explosions, the burning effect will also light the fuses of gunpowder barrels that are close to them.
*Immune to Volcanic rocks, regenerates health standing on lava. - Highly resistant to firearms damage.
*Fire skeletons can not spawn with gunpowder
When exposed to water (like Golden skeletons), fire skeletons will get their fire extinguished. They will reignite themselves after a dry period of time.
- Loses gunpowder immunity, firearms resistance.
- Loses the burning aoe mechanic.
- Takes increased damage from swords.
Here´s also some concept art, made by me, visualising the idea:
Hope you like it and I wish you a good time on the seas!
Cheers.
