I often sail alone. I don't struggle generally with solo PvE. But a major problems arise when I go to sell at an outpost and promptly get a fresh ship spawn at the outpost I am selling at. It is lost on me why a fresh crew can spawn in when I'm still selling. Essentially handing all of my loot to a fresh crew before they have even stepped onto thier own ship. I welcome any PvP encounter but this is just broken. It's a simple problem to fixed that continues to cost me loot.
Anyone else had this happen?
Outpost spawns.
@fakeprogress I personally have not and this is actually the first time i have heard of it. The game has a mechanic that you are suppose to spawn at the nearest outpost with no one on it, I think. I have not been able to keep up with the Patch Notes due to IRL stuff but i doubt they'd change it. Mind if i ask what outpost and where you anchored at? When I sell, especially with athenas on board we dock at the dock so that the game reads a ship is there. Also are you sure they were a fresh spawn? they might've just had a stock ship and saw you sail to the outpost to sell. I am not doubting you but i just want to make sure they were an absolutely new spawn as this is the first i have ever heard of a fresh spawn crew on a outpost another player is on
@thaundeadone hey, this has happened to me twice. Both I can confirm were fresh spawns. It may be because my ship sometime isn't exactly parked at the dock, I often use row boats if I am soloing as it is alot quicker to unload. This could cause it. However, I feel the addition of row boats encourages this and if that is the case then I'm being punished for using a tool the game provides? There are more than enough outposts for the game to spawn people at empty ones.
@fakeprogress was your ship alive? ships arent supposed to spawn at an outpost if other ships are nearby. but if you sunk your ship and then went to sell your chests well thats just your own nooby fault. just dont sink your ship and its a simple fix yea.
@fakeprogress there are also other people spread around the map, nearby other outposts. and it sounds like its just the risk of using a rowboat. but idk if your ship was there or not, if your ship was at the outpost and they still spawned then its a bug that needs to be fixed. if your ship had sunk or was far away from the outpost then its just that they are spawning at the outpost where the nearest ship is furthest away i think.
@d4m0r3d it’s an actual bug, should have taken a vid at the time, but we wanted to sell loot quick and gage the new guys friendliness. And yes my ship was there, not a rowboat but my brigantine with the reaper’s mark up still after completing another reaper voyage.
Edit: location was golden sands, or sanctuary I get them mixed. Also some good info was that me and my buddy weren’t anchored at the docks
@weststormborn hmm yea i would call that a bug. i dont think that is what rare would intend to happen. im pretty sure when you spawn you are supposed to spawn at an outpost with no one in the close vacinity. i always thought it was supposed to spawn you as far away from everone as possible
