Weird happenings on the Sea of Thieves tonight.

  • Not sure if this is the right spot, since I didn't see anywhere specifically for bug reports, but I was out doing a Gold Hoarders mission in the Devil's Roar, and decided to head back to turn in a chest at Morrow's Peak, since, well, volcanoes.
Anyway, I pulled up to Morrow's Peak, and was greeted with this:

    N64 Mode wasn't on.

Thinking maybe something was just weird with that section of the map, I sailed to Ancient Spire. Same thing. Then I continued sailing around and finally came upon another sloop. I decided to see if maybe I had been disconnected and not kicked out, but I managed to sink the parked sloop, and just as I was collecting the goods, I was killed by its former captain, thus proving I was still online.

After that, I got stuck in a black screen and the ghost ship never loaded. I'm not even mad that I lost that ashen marauder's chest, but I'd really like to know if this is a common thing...

  • @foxkelfonne That is a crazy glitch! That happened to me once for Lookout Point. No matter what the island would not render. I would create a support ticket here and let them know what happened with all the details you think would be helpful.

  • @foxkelfonne I'm pretty sure this is know issue already and they know that, I think they said this is something with Nvidia Gpus, not sure tho.

  • @bundui I do have a GTX 1070, it's just a little weird that it's more than just a display issue. Like, none of the NPCs have loaded either, and I couldn't walk on it. It's like the entire area just never finished loading.

I don't know how the game handles rendering of NPCs though, so I'm not sure.

  • @foxkelfonne If I'm not mistaken, they said you can turn down graphics to specific option (I don't remember what) and this is not going to be happening.
