    Ahoy me hearties!
    Captain Custurd here from Xbox live. So the past few months of playing have brought plenty of talk and feedback and I have a few suggestions and feedback for the amazing staff at Rare Ltd. first of a congratulations for being one of the few gaming companies who take feedback and care about the community.

    Let’s begin! We will start with feedback and current bugs being encountered. Though many have mixed feelings about the barrel system I enjoy it a lot and sure a “grab and give all” is amazing but the actual system is great and I enjoy seeing multiple items on one barrel. I enjoy the skeleton crew events Quite a lot and using cursed cannonballs on the ship is hilarious and entertaining so great job on those ships! So one negative thing I saw was the addition of the Athena’s ship skin which seems only “ok” and I say that for a few reasons. For $500,000 gold I expected a wow factor something different that you can see at a distance and go “oh no it’s a legend” but instead it’s black with a green vine upfront and the mast, cannons sails and anchor are all plain wood? Now I thought some glowing cracks or floating bits would be amazing but was slightly disappointed that I spent so much for well, not enough. Another few current bugs are the Skelton bug where players come back as a green skeleton and also the glitch with barrels where you cannot grab any supplies.

    OK! Suggestion time, so now I can talk about suggested things me and my fellow crew members and a few others have discussed in detail, that mutually think would be great fun.

    1. A rope system! In pirate movies you see two ships get extremely close and not ram each other! But swing to one another’s ships and battle it out on the decks of the vessels, the system would be great because sometimes you too far to jump but not far enough to use a cannon to fire over.

    2. A coconut style bomb/Grenade. Now this might be a bit trickier to achieve but it would be interesting if gunpowder barrels could be broken down into 2-3 smaller bombs that only put about 2 holes in a ship and are more meant to eliminate players. They could look like a coconut with a fuse coming out of it. You would need to maybe combine “found coconuts” and gunpowder barrels.

    3. More legend gear such as clothes weapons etc. I think the ghosts gear is nice but why not some more clothing other then the free set? Some menacing black and red gear or some fancier admiral style gear with tasles and gold.

    As for now that’s all I have for the team for now, enjoy my friends and tread lightly Captain Custurd will see ye on the seas!

    @cpt-custurd Now then me hearty!

    You're right, the current legend cosmetics are a little... lacking, but let's hope that these improve with time.

    As for your suggestions - Ropes and grenades have been plenty sought after since launch and I have to say, I completely agree - though perhaps more with ropes than with coconut grenades (coconut to EAT however.. now there is a different story!)

    To add to this with a few ideas of my own - I have said it before and I will say it again - more NPC types:

    As much as I like the idea of swinging from a rope, the movies make it work with a lot of BS movie magic.
    I don't mean to be a kill joy but to be as effective as seen on TV, pirates would need to swing off ropes secured to the opposing ship. Our own sails simply aren't wide enough.

    To have the ropes fixed to the yardarm of your own sail would limit the swing to less than the height of the mounting pivot point to the deck or whatever platform you leap from.

    This brings up another question. What do you leap off to swing across?
    Although not suitable, only the galleon and sloop have raised p**p decks which are some distance behind their main masts. So that would mean that if you were to swing, it would be on an angle forward and not directly across which would result in the swing ending at even less distance away from your ship.

    Sorry to be the one to point that out.

    Or even bording ropes? Like in Assassin's Creed: Black Flag.

    That’s a great idea maybe just a rope on the deck that you click on to start the animation, Genius matey!

    Just tying to bump the thread, seems like the top comment threads are the posts with “this ruined the game” or “game sucks” titles. It’s a feedback and suggestion thread. Hopefully people can give genuine feedback and such with good thought out reasoning.

    @cpt-custurd Love the ideas. Couple of notes. For the barrel UI, I have come to like the benefits more than I hate the change. They do need to fix the various glitches that surround it though, and I was hoping that would come out this week, but no update so no fix. The glitches are the long pause after closing a barrel, and while on a ship in waves you get kicked off the barrels. They supposedly fixed that, but I continue to have problems finding the right spot to stay in the UI.

    Rope system and subsequent feedback is a great idea.

    Coconut style bomb, instead of a coconut, why not a hollowed out cannonball? Seems that is more of what pirates had. That or the cocktail bottle and rag.

    Legend gear is needed. And the Athena boat is definitely a disappointment. I really thought it would have a glow similar to the skelly ships. Maybe not quite as bright, but the PL logo glowing on your sail would have made it a ton better.

    Another idea to add, and I hope you are ok with it, is more types of merchants and merchant quests. I know they are introducing some in FS. But will those be limited to the Devils Roar?

    Last, an idea that my best mate and I have tossed around is merchant ships, similar to skelly ships, but ones that we can raid, hide on to attack other raiding parties and what not. Yes some new NPC's would have to be added, but why not. Isn't that what pirates did most? Raid merchant ships.

    Again, great post, and hope I wasn't out of line in adding some of my ideas.

    @Cpt-Custurd Thank you for the post, I think, overall, there has been enough negativity about the game over the past several weeks. It is time to get back to positive input and genuine efforts to actually improve the game moving forward.

    It may has been mentioned somewhere else but how about a bolo for close quarter combat. Takes the space of a weapon slot, Carry only 3 and can be restocked at ammo boxes. Can stun or immobilize players or pesky skeletons for 3 to 5 seconds. Takes half the time of a sword lunge to pull off.

    Seriously though, when you're digging a chest, and 10 guys with blunderbusses and eyes start shooting at you, if you manage to kill them all, the second time you start shoveling, 10 more spawn! 😐😂 Most of the time it's not too bad, but someeee timeeeeees...

    Nothing like sacrificing yourself (and most likely, and albiet accidentally your buddy next to you) for the greater booty! Now if only the guy on the Ferry was more...chatty.
