Help #EndTheViolence #EnactTheKindness -- Create a MOVEMENT!

  • Join me these two weeks by livestreaming in Passivist Mode on ANY game you play -- but particularly in games that glorify or award violence.

    You have the choice to...

-- not attack players, NPCs, or both
-- opt into being the healer or defender of the group
-- assist others in philanthropic ways by assisting builds, repairs, cargo hauls, etc.

Just make sure you purposely perform deeds of non-violence. You can attack your enemies but don't maim, slay, destroy them.

The bottom-line is to willfully be kind to others, not just your friends, but total stranger -- and dare I say, maybe your enemies too.

    ONE ADDITIONAL THING

Promote NON-Violence in any way possible for YOUR In Real World Community -- whether it be on a city, state, or country level.

Raise awareness. Educate others. Enact Kindness. Help others take steps by letting them know that violence against others, violence against themselves is NOT the answer.

If you want to show people how to make social change with legislation, then go for it.
If you want to show people how to join or donate to organizations that promote peace, then go for it.
If you want to show people how to counsel and help those that feel unloved or socially abused, then go for it.

How you experience your #EndTheViolence #EnactTheKindness is up to you. Just remember:

    (1) Raise awareness
    (2) Educate others
    (3) Play Passivist Mode

If GAMING has taught us anything, it's taught us that violence does not have to be the answer.

    . . .

Feel free to post Organization information & Your Streaming Channel.

  • @captnjaq If I recall correctly the last time we met on the seas (last weekend) you said that you just want to smash players and sink their ships.
    Kill, KILL, KILL!!!! lol

Boy have things changed in less than a week. Just saying. :o)

P.S. I'm glad the meds are working.

  • Sometimes violence is the only answer. I’m alive today because I was willing to go ultra violent after being attacked with a weapon.

  • i know that some people intentionally (and even myself at times) try to be the friendly pirate but here's my plan...

i won't be able to do much this week but I can certainly work the HECK out of next week. i'll go ahead and play from Sea of Thieves. Not sure about LOTRO but that would be a true change my elf is a hunter and the only thing i can do is heal toxins...

But at least with SOT, i can do merchant and gold quests so i'll be opting in for the Player and NPC Passivist runs. not sure if any ship will take me since i'll only sail, rig, patch, and bail. but it should still interesting to try and dig a chest and not protect with the sword or pistol...

could even consider doing the Passive run of Undertale...

here at the organization i'll try to promote..

  • @admiral-rrrsole:
but since then another school shooting didn't happen and a student of mine didn't have to intervene in her friend's attempted suicide .... that's why I'm setting aside at least one week to play as a Passivist. if anything, i might consider donating so much per hit if i accidentally inflict damage on someone and something.

...in addition, i don't want the media to start blaming video games when gaming communities can be the most sociably positive change for an who feels they don't belong.

  • @captnjaq I commend you on your current trail of thought but unfortunately video games have been blamed for decades now.
There are many non-violent games out there but they don't satisfy the hunger in people that have grown up to watch violence on TV, movies, etc and even super hero comic books.

All of these things (except the video games) were around when I was a youngster and my generation weren't killing themselves or each other.
That, to me says it's not the content of movies, comics or games but rather the depth of each progressing generation.

The media is all too quick to point fingers which, not unlike any illusionist, is to divert your attention elsewhere.
The media is also to blame where the news, YouTube and social media not only brings awareness to these foolish acts but they also encourage others to perform similarly stupid things.
Not everyone suddenly started planking without first already seeing it done via the media.
Not everyone thought to shoot-up a school without already seeing it done via the media.
Not everyone thinks to snipe from a bell tower without already seeing it done via the media.
Not everyone thinks to perform acts of terrorism without already seeing it done via the media.
Not every child thinks that the only way to get sympathy, attention or recognition is to die or kill without already seeing it done via the media.

We now live in a world of copy-cat crimes, each decade more so than the previous.

Violence is easy to replicate to an unconditioned mind so it is us, the parents, the teachers, the media, who should help future generations to know right from wrong and the consequences.
The do-gooders saying that children should not be disciplined are to blame.
The BS ethics "nobody gets kept down a grade" are to blame.
The BS ethics "there are no winners or losers" are to blame.
The BS ethics "everyone gets a trophy for participating" are to blame.

What do the good kids have to strive for when the town idiot gets the same rewards and even greater recognition?

  • would you consider to do a Passivist Run with me, @admiral-rrrsole? R')

  • @captnjaq Anytime. You know me, Mr NiceGuy. lol :o)
