I would like to point out my love for this game, not just because it's so dang beautiful, but mostly because of its got so much potential to become a vessel for community. Like many who play the game I watched pirates of the Caribbean to get into the mood and the idea struck me as to its missing component. A continent! Imagine instead of all edges of the map leading to ocean, one of those edges was just a large section of land.... and sparsely placed apart at distances much like the islands are cities upon the continent. Here there could be a cultural aspect to the game where pirates would fight the government as traditional pirates were always meant to do. I'm sure people have already thought of this cuz it seems so obvious. When my imagination brushes over this continent idea the possibilities really have no end. For example, it gives players and groups a common enemy if not just each other. I think that people need a little of the mythical the game is already going for, and a little of the real, to keep every who plays interested. Oh... and maybe the cities could look 1800 English style...
An English Continent
@adam-archangel Hi, I recommend you see Black Sails. The game is very influenced by this. You will get an idea of the era from Las Islas Bahamas. by the way the game is set around the year 1650.
@viejvs thanks! I'm liking games that require taking to real people lately. That one looks like one with a story on a ghost ship right? Looks good but it won't last as long as this game which is open world.
@adam-archangel No, I was not referring to the game, I was referring to Black Sails, is an American historical adventure television series. I did not even know there was a game lol
@adam-archangel Loving the idea, but the lore doesn't fit... You, the player, came to the sea of thieves to get away from that and make phat stacks of cash, bro... It's not compatible with the lore.
In addition to that, i don't think the game can handle it. :(
