The Tale of the Unluckiest Pirate (post duplicated from a post in Tavern Tales because it fits in both categories)

  • I get on, and I queue up for a 4-person galleon. I end up in the middle of an active, uncontested skull fort with a crew who talks. Big win, right?

Well, we finish the skull fort, and everyone is ahem mysteriously disconnected except for one guy, who fills the entire crew up with his irl friends within 30 seconds. Clearly a hacker, but I just report him and move on (his gamertag is BROxBEEF).

I queue up again, and immediately end up in a crew who had just turned in a bronze secret-keeper. I talked to them, and that was the last bit of loot from a skeleton fort they had just completed.

So I go to some Looking for Group posts in the xbox club. I find the perfect crew, all with mics and familiar with server-hopping and the like, and my game crashes. They do not respond to any requests for an invite back.

That actually happened again right afterwards.

I create a looking for group post. One person joins. Can't do it with one person.

I find another post. Register for it. Get invited. Get kicked right after they find a skull cloud because my computer isn't good enough for them.

Ladies and gentlemen, the story of me, robbed of five skeleton forts in one night!

I have half a mind to actually kill myself so everyone involved can be arrested for incitement. I won't, though, because I have finals to fail next week.

Seriously, why should I play this game?
