Character Creator AND HOW TO DO IT

    How to do it

    1. Replace "delete pirate" button with saves
    2. Saves means you can have multiple pirate character looks saved. I can be the pirate that looks like me, or I can switch to my super fat pirate for fun. Like load outs, but for characters.
    3. You select a saved pirate, and edit it however you like with all the options. You can name these pirates, and switch between them ingame if possible.
    4. These pirates are NOT seperate progression saves. They are just physical models that we switch between/edit.

    WHY

    1. I have friends who won't buy the game because it doesnt have a character builder once I told them
    2. Skyrim, Darksouls, Fallout, GTA, etc all recognise how much people care about making their own characters. It's why they put so much attention and detail into it, regardless if the game is single/multiplayer.
    3. Adds value to cosmetics. I will care sooooooo much more about the jackets, boots, shirts, etc etc, if I actually liked the way my pirate looked. My current pirate is ok, he's not bad. But if 100% of the progression is cosmetic, then why wouldnt you let us edit the character, that 100% of the unlocks in the game are going to go on???
    4. It will please your existing fans greatly
    5. It will make people want to buy the game more
    6. It will make people want to buy microtransactions more, since they're way more into the way their character looks. Hell I might even buy multiple microtransactions for my multiple different pirate saves. Maybe something that looks funny for my fat pirate, something for my skinny pirate, and something for my main me looking pirate.

    Conclusion
    You'll make everyone happier, make people want to play more, make people want to buy the game more, make people want to buy cosmetics more, and make people want to buy more cosmetics. Please add a character creator.

    It won't happen. Personally, if a friend hadn't gotten me this game, I probably wouldn't have myself due to the "creator" that Rare has in place now. With the game, I spent 3 hours trying to find a design that I didn't despise. So yeah. A creator would be nice.

    @polybius-kane Exactly. People blatantly say they wont buy because of the current character creator. It makes no sense. We have some amazing looking models and options for characters, yet we can't edit them. This is so important to the game. I want MY pirate to become a pirate legend, not some preset pirate I kinda like, kinda don't like. For other people it's even worse. Some people might hate their current pirate. They can't get a new one with out deleting 100% of their progress. Thats so awful. That'd just make me want to quit.

    Please, devs. Read this topic carefully. Your IPG is garbage and whoever thought it was a good idea needs to be out of the game development business.

    You need to implement an actual character creator and give everyone the chance to modify their existing pirate, NOT MAKE A NEW ONE, using the creator.

    Lol, if we give players a player editor, everyone's toon will look exactly the same like GTAV, so boring a game populated by the same 5 pretty faces... No the IPG is brilliant, keeps the dull masses from all choosing to wear wonder bread as a face.

    Out of protest at the lack of character customisation, I am currently an old, overweight, bearded woman. Only because the first character I chose turned out to be a woman when I thought she was a man. I spent almost 30 minutes scrolling through randomly generated blockheads for it to not even be the sex I wanted. Please add some kind of precise editor(and give existing players a do-over).

    First, you're an idiot for making such sweeping generalizations. Second, you're an idiot for not noticing that the IPG gives you the same 5 archetypes every time. Oh, there are more than 5? Well there are more than 5 faces used in GTAV. See how stupid statements make you look stupid?

    My gtav character is the ugliest weirdo that you will never see. Yes, a lot of people tend to flock toward the same attractive things, but who are you to condemn them for their choices about how their game character looks. I could see condemning them for their actions, or for even playing gtav in the first place, but for making a character that they find aesthetically pleasing? What the hell is going on in your brain? You can't possibly know what everyone would do, so stop acting like it.

    The IPG is as insulting as your statement that everyone will look the same, because it's basically that statement implemented as a game mechanic.

    Thats a great idea, the only thing I would ad up would be that things like tattoo and stuff like that should be bought ingame, in that way you would have more reasons to get money.

    Everybody looks the same in GTAV because their character creation is utter garbage. It's hard to make an individual looking character due to their baffling design on that.

    SoT has a great set of options, but you're at the whim of RNG. It took me about 25 minutes (no exaggeration) for this thing to give me a female character model that wasn't an old lady.

    Considering I was soon at the point where I decided "I will take the first female that isn't old, even if they still look awful", it was nothing but frustrating to not even get that.

    Don't like the character wheel.
    I quickly noticed the same type of pirates with the same tattoo patterns.
    I would like the option to create a custom pirate.
    It would have saved me 3 days of spinning the pirate slot machine hoping to win the jackpot.

    Tested out each body type, male and female.
    Females are taller and have a male body buidler look. Like ugly lesbians.
    Nothing but old fat ladies or t****y looking females.
    Rare has male sound effects for the female characters too.

    I picked a a skinny black male pirate with mixed colored hair. No scars.
    More difficult to spot at night and shoot at. 😄

    I'd love another shot at the character creator, and it would be even better if I could have some more precise options for selecting my pirate on the wheel. It doesn't even have to be similar to a traditional character creator. I'd just love to be able to have the option to specify and say, "Show me only female pirates," or something along those lines.
