This game has a serious bully problem.

@gigglesnarf great game but the verbal abuse or should i say 90% of it being racial abuse is getting out of hand, for me the racial slurs usually start when i dont fight back when i have no loot on board, once they realise they spent 10 min chasing me and wasting time i am every racial slur ever invented lol

and im a bad player for not leaving loot for them to get or not running when they chase me, whats the point if i have nothing on board, im would rather scuttle the ship to stop them getting extra cannonballs which really annoys them lol

When this happens I laugh, I absolutely love when someone rolls up acting like a damn fool for them to only be sank, camped, and leave the server.

Before you come to tell me to "Git Gud" understand that this is coming from a very experienced veteran player. I was defending these kids a week ago, but after the past 2 days of literally not being able to do anything but fight...well i cant ignore it anymore.

When i say bullies, understand that I dont mean they are sinking me or that they are good. Usually in true bully fashion they cant back up their persona.

Just yesterday I had 2 seperate instances of galleons rolling up on my sloop screaming racial slurs and swearing at me. They killed all my animals for my merchant mission and decided they needed to sink my ship. in both cases I fought off every single person that climbed aboard mine and blew several holes in there ship and boarded them before they could run away...because they always run when you put up a fight. I ended up sinking them in both occurrences by simply defending the holes i made.

I won, but they still got what they wanted, they ruined my fun, they killed the animals I had visited 4 or 5 islands for, and set me back about an hours worth of playtime. They werent there to steal, they were there to cause trouble, and scream racial slur.

I love this game but we need a way to deal with players like this or you wont find many players sticking around, its only gonna escalate. they are always in noob clothes because they arent looking for gold, they just want to sink people.

They are always too scared to go for a galleon.

People are getting bored, boredom of voyages and the realization that legendary pirate is not even worth the tedious grind people are starting to turn to full on PVP. I am one of them I don't even get chests anymore even if a ship I sink has loads on I don't even bother getting them and if I do happen to have chests onboard I'm no longer afraid to engage in combat like I used to be for fear of losing my chests.

I noticed the same surge in agressivity (both in game and in the forum), and I guess the reason is that the less agressive players got bored of being bullied and left the game. Most of my friends did. :'/

@dairadh well Rare has put their foot down on the idea of PvE servers or Solo only mode so a bunch of people probably were like "okay screw you then" and with people getting all upset of the pirate legend status (seriously, you guys are missing the point of this game) you have people like the guy above you who just want them to make it battleships with no PvE nonsense.

@d0wnt0wn711 I'm seriously scared that this game gained such a toxic rep and ingame behaviour this fast. The sailing mechanics are so cool and the waves so beautiful I deeply hope RARE will keep the ship from drowning x_x

Dude i'm all for PvE trust me I can grind for hours on PvE games like Black desert online and I mean hours non stop without getting bored but the PvE in this game is an absolute JOKE...Who here has fun running into 10 skeletons all firing shots at the same time, who here wants to get spam hit by super fast melee attacking skeletons that ignore every shot you put on them other than the 3rd hit, you are lucky to get a 3rd hit with how quickly they mob you its just not fun what so ever. They are also buggy and you end up inside them or they are doing other animations like blocking and still somehow managing to hit you.

@roosterhome this, i agree with, the PvE is so lacking, and with so much effort put into ship combat people just assume that's what the game is about. there needs to be multi stage voyages that go to multiple islands and are worth more treasure, and some islands are so pathetic... like 2 blocks of sand with a tree gets a name and everything. there needs to be more big islands that have mysteries to uncover, skeletons need to be BETTER because as AI enemies they suck and offer little challenge and most of the time, the rewards aren't even worth fighting them. i think it would be awesome if skeleton forts could kill the s**t out of you so maybe forcing you to team up with another 4-man to beat them, instead of them being farming/pseudo-PvP zones

@pleasantcarnage no need for the racist abuse though. and dont give me well pirates did that as well, this is a game and if everything is fare game because you use the word pirates tehn maybe we should all download game hacks and cheat because you know "pirates"

and pirates were never the blood thirsty killers people thought they were, they never fought each other as it was to costly and they ran away like alot, pirate tactics were swoop in sink the stragler lagging behind and run of before the east india trading companies ships could turn round and blast them to hell.

most big pirates were legendary not because of how many ships they sunk but for how long they never got caught. (usually because they ran away)

everybody's idea of blood thirsty no good cheating pirates come from movies and tv shows

@cavemancronch this, they should add godmode and no-clip as options in the menu if "there's no rules, everyone is out for themselves"

@touchdown1504 proximity chat is useless at the moment. most players fire at you before it comes into range anyway, it has gotten to the point were everyone is sick of getting sunk while trying to be friendly it has started to be a shoot first ask questions later, now you have to assume that any ship that comes near you just wants to sink you

To an extent, I agree with you. But I don't think it will get worse, I think it will get better. #1 the game is getting fairly poor reviews on youtube. Everyone says the same thing, repetitive and no content. Now after watching Prod1gyX meta game his way to Pirate Legend we see that pirate legend is just more carrot in front of the mule content with no true reward... Yeah, a cave with some water, some ghosts, some cheese jokes, and HUGE missions that will take hours to complete that you can't pause in. Only people who enjoy the game and the scenery will stay. Along with that game pass free trial will end soon. No, my friend, I think actually what will happen is that this trend will fade. Of course there will always be piracy. It's a pirate game. We can't get upset when people pirate us. At least we shouldn't in a pirate game.
How else was an open pvp world with open coms going to go? Next people will start saying that they think people are inherently good!

PVE stuff is a real ball ache. I am still only lvl 20 for gold hoarders but after doing 3 missions I expect to have more than 2 seafarers chest and 3 maunders. That's it 3 quests lvl 20! I got more from 1 single ship wreck!

Thank you! That's exactly what I usually think. The game needs a beef up on types of mission but it doesn't lack content. People are, in general a*****s, it doesn't matter if the game has content or not.

If they are bored I'm sure this is not the only game they have. Go play something else and don't ruin it for everyone that enjoys it because they don't.

@gigglesnarf I think its more than verbal, I would like to see a Non-PVP mode or a mode where if you enter a outpost, it becomes a safe zone. I am playing this game from a Gamepass trial, but I have zero interest in playing this game further because all you can do is fight. Eventually, the only ones left will be the bullies and the game will feel empty. The fighting part is interesting and can be fun, but that's all you can do right now in this game. You cannot explore and fight skeletons b/c you have to sit and defend your ship 99.999% of the time. There is no balance. Its just fight. Boring in my opinion if I am limited to playing the game one way. Maybe this game is just not my cup of tea.

Well this can be answered the same way as every post criticizing toxic player or griefers: It's a pirate game! Do you think pirates talked very nicely to their victims?

Okay so here's the deal... There is PvP, some people do PvP because that's all they care about, if you have a problem with that, you chose the wrong game to play, it's a pirate game.

Also, if we start policing HOW the PvP should be used, people are going to be afraid of playing the game out of fear of being banned for doing PvP, this will cause the game to die within a week of such a change being implemented.

People will not do as you want them to, just because it's inconvenient for you... This is the risk of playing a PvP game, deal with it.

@cameron-buckeye the problem is hardcore PvP players just want battleships. a good portion of the community just wants to sink people. with the reveal of pirate legend people have "less incentive" to PvE (not that they did anything other than PvP beforehand) and go on saying things like "this is a PvP game if you don't want to get shot at by literally everyone then play insert random kids game" which is a BIG PROBLEM for this community... Rare sold me a game about adventuring and treasure, in fact the add i saw only had 1 (ONE, SINGULAR) shot of fighting another ship, most of it was being silly pirates looking for treasure and fighting skeletons, so i thought "damn this looks like a fun game to meet randoms on the high seas and get into all sorts of shenanigans." I feel a big problem is people talking about the "circle around and jump off with chests to turn them in" strategy, like why do i have to cheese the game mechanics to complete missions? i should be able to dock my ship and go about my business at port (like a real pirate) and another post somewhere mentioned how you can't be a "pirate" with no authority to evade which is very true. Real pirates were more scavengers than fighters, no pirates were going around waging war against the east-india company, sorry kids but PotC is a movie.

Im sorry you went through it. Im having these problems myself but Im not a good fighter yet. I hope these ppl will go away after the stupid 14 days of the free xbox thing
