Name your ship when starting with a crew.
If one of your crew members attacks another ship with canons, your ship name shows up (like the player's name does, on top of the ship) coloured in orange. If the other crew shoots back, their name shows up too.
For a day (in-game), you both are "combatants", wich means that you like to pvp. After that time, your name disapears again.
On the same first case, if the other crew doesn't fire back, and you sink them, you are a PK, your ship's name shows up in red for 2 days (in-game).
While on PK mode, any ship can sink you without consequences on its ship (doesn't show your name).
That way, we can see wich pirates are more to PVP, to PVE and to PK.
PK can't cash its treasures on the outposts, but maybe there could be one special outpost for them. If you bring stolen chests, you get extra rewards. But other PKs will bring theirs there, so it would be more exciting for them to play.
And for balancing up, killing PKs could be rewarded with gold.
Maybe being a PK could rank up another kind of company level, with its own cosmetics, and killing PKs another one, so in order to get all the skins, you have to play on each side of the game.
Your PK status may grow up, maybe even showing your ship on every player's map in a radius, that grows bigger everytime you sink a surrendered ship. That way, the PVE players will avoid you, but the PVP players will chase you for their own reputation.
I, for example, would just play to hunt down PKs, ranking up my "good" reputation, and put on the cosmetics to tell PVE players that I mean no harm to them, and even if I betray them, i will become a PK, so others players would chase me.
I just want some real reflection of how your actions make changes in the world. How being a good pirate is rewarding, but being a bad one too.
