As most of you probably know, there's a streamer about 8 levels from pirate legend. According to many people and having viewed this myself, he's boosting to rank up. If you don't know, he's having a lot of people go out and do missions and joining them at the post to turn in all the loot for free rep.
I personally don't find this to be that much of an issue, although it sucks he's going to be the first.
I am curious as to the community and Rares stance on boosting.
@killjoyplays My view is, while probably not against any rules, it really tarnishes "legend". I have seen a legit streamer, grinding his and his crew's butts off pulling 16hr days. Playing with logical efficient routes.

It's nothing new, it's one of the legit advantage's of being a popular streamer, and I personally could not care who is first, pirate legend is way over hyped, it's really not that hard to get, in the next couple of months you will see pirate legends everywhere, no big deal.
@killjoyplays not much different than people getting groups with randos to just farm forts...
Though i dont get why people want to be "done" with the game so quickly
Just pity anyone like that , I mean if you've got to do something like that to achieve a video game achievement , you must have , well , nothing in terms of actual accomplishments that matter in real life.
Just pity , the person can't even get video game achievements without outside help , what can they actually do that matters ?
Eh there are always going to be tactics and loopholes like this used to try and race to being 'world first' at something. That's just how it goes.
Can't really complain though if Pirate Legend gets the beans spilled about it by the end of this week. I imagine it's going to result in some pretty hefty backlash unless Rare was really holding some big cards close to their chest as a surprise.
@hex-ten If you are a Guild, an that's the gold for the guild, then boosting one players is the right way. but it's kinda a lame way, but it's a way

They are helping the community find out what is at the end of this rabbit hole we know as a grind. After all we have seen, i agree with their actions.

I've got a lot of news for you, there isn't anything there and I'm not really sure why anyone thinks there will be.
You're going to be doing the same voyages for the same merchants but you'll have access to the tavern and that special chest. Maybe a few new cosmetics or something.
Those of you sitting around here expecting a new world to go play in or a wealth of content are going to be quite disappointed.
Ship captaincy isn't even in the game yet.
Man, I wouldn't have any doubt that many of us already KNOW that. It's more or less confirming. Just in case they are hiding a secret. (which keeps seeming the case on some of their videos). I don't feel like grinding levels if there's no reason to be doing it. Better off just roaming around without the missions at that point.
@talonwren I guess we all want to know, although I'd probably be alright with having the disappointment be delayed for another few days.

shrugs I think its legit. I mean if people want to waste their time and help him im for it. Again we get to find out, for sure, whats at the end of the road.

Could you show me somewhere in the rules where people volunteering their time to help someone to legend status is against the rules? Because I didn't see that clause anywhere. I mean you may not like it.. but there's always going to be someone trying to get to the end. And honestly, just like you said.. there isn't going to be much there anyway.. so why are you so mad? Which is it?

You know dang well that's not how you're supposed to be doing it.
Person in second place is also cheating the system though. All he does is farm skele forts. He joins a server. If no fort. He quits and joins a new one until he sees a fort. That is also cheating the system.
That is NOT what the developers intended.
Either way we are getting a legendary pirate in the next couple days. I would rather see the guy who gets help from friends AND actually does a fair amount of Voyages start to finish. Than a guy who nearly solely does Forts.
But I understand some people's disdain towards it. I would've much preferred a true legit first legendary pirate.

I'll praise him once he's done it and show whats there. I mean he used his smarts to get other people to do it for him and they agreed. Not my place to tell them how to play their game. Will be nice to know what's there once he's there. And if there's nothing im just going to halt my grinding. It's win for me.
