@lovesponge1982 Yeah for someone who plays 15+ hours a day (work or play) I too am a avid gamer my friend, but fair enough it's not for you I guess. To me it's the best game of all time I'm addicted to it already put in 30+ hours playing and will continue too!
Microtransactions Yay or Nay?
They did say they'll be adding pets that are interactive in some capacity and that everyone on the ship could enjoy in some sense.
Also mentioned "Fun potions".
They could have some pets be able to be earned via achievements, events and others you can buy with microtrans. You could earn a scabies covered monkey but you could buy a monkey decked out in a theme of one of the companies. Everyone has access to pets, but with microtrans you can get a cooler looking one.
Technically we already have microtrans appearance stuff via the insider program was it? And a few other pre-order bonuses. So I figure adding more isn't really a problem.
@sardukar1234 2 ships is not the content, A open world game large size with thousands of quests upgrades, raids, mob type with different tactics to kill them, reputations, awards customisation, pirate legends and what that in tales. The content is there if you play more then 5 I can assure you.
and you sum it with, 2 ships hahaa
@lionrampant87 Pets are comming in to the game, but NO cloths or anything like that only stuff you can't buy with ingame credits cuz if they sell cloth for irl cash then people will see no point in farming gold to get cool looking and just open there wallets insteed. SO keep it to maybe tats and pets.
@luciansanchez82 had to pay 70€ for the game and can't even access all the content (in case they do make it MT only) smh
@deadtree-alive You didn't pay for the beta I don't understand your reasoning? They spent millions making it made some profit on the sales now need funding for future content and updates my man, its very NECESSARY unless you want it to just sit like this?
It is not necessary. They added NOTHING between the final beta and full release, other than bringing back the Order of Souls, which was taken out at the end of the alpha. I spent $60 for what is pretty much an Early Access game, more like a beta than anything else. It is not the final game I was promised a year or two ago. If microtransactions are necessary for me to get the cosmetics I want, in a game where cosmetics is literally everything this game is, then I’m gonna be pretty ticked.
There should be unlockable, non paid for items AND there should be micro transaction purchases for similar items.
Such as: a tabby cat you can unlock or pay for with in game currency. Or pay 5$ for the tabby cat with an eye patch.
Similar to elder scrolls. You can get a pet thru unlocks or you can choose from 50 awesome pets by paying for them with real money
My opinion, ok so long as there's a way to earn said items through play AND there are items which HAVE to be earned through play rather than bought with real money.
I don't want to lose the feeling of "look at his hat, he must be a really fearsome pirate to have a hat like that"
I have no problem with people spending money instead of time to dress up their pirate. There's a lot of people who are time poor + money rich (I could even be one of them if I was actually working instead of clogging up the forum here today. Wait ssssh, here comes the boss)
Nay!
Pretty much the only feel of progression this game has, are cosmetic. If you are able to buy that, you might as well close up shop. Just buy the things you strive and struggle for and you're all done.
We've at least got something to work for at the moment, new clothes, different sail looks and what not. If you see someone with a p****d out ship now, it's some sort of achievement, that crew will seem more fierce than the rest. If you were able to buy that, it would just be a sea with different colored boats, and no effort or struggle behind it, only bigger wallets.
@boxcar-squidy i am the sameI work as a graphic designer so thankfully my job is not to intense haha
@ozoft i dont mean things for your ship things like pets i want to be able to buy a base like in GTA somewhere my crew and I can call home
@omega-131313 sagte in Microtransactions Yay or Nay?:
@lionrampant87 if its only like $2 or $5 for a parrot, monkey, etc. then i'm ok with it, but if I need to pay $15 to get a F***ing parrot then nay all the way
You know how it works. If it's too cheap everyone will get one. Gotta make it expensive so it is interesting and in the long run makes more money.
