I've been looking forward to the release of SoT for ages and have pre-ordered it, but I found out last week that I'll be away on business on the release day. I have a gaming laptop though on the same MS account as my gaming PC. Will it be possible to install the game on my laptop to hopefully get a few hours in on the 20th and then install it on my PC when I get back home on the 22nd or will I have to buy a second copy for the PC? I don't mind having to uninstall it from my laptop if that's what it takes. I use it more for video editing anyway.
Installing on two devices
@tobyonekenobe Ahoy there!
As long as you are signed in with the same Microsoft Account on both devices you will just be able to install the game on both without ordering a second copy.
@mattehftw
You cannot have 2 of the same account logged in at the same time! He will require his own MS Account, but you will only need 1 copy of the game.@mattehftw It is not possible with the same account as the device will recognise you are already playing elsewhere.
But @DrBullhammer has a good solution above and the best way this can be achieved.
@musicmee Thanks. Let's hope the WiFi at the hotel I'll be staying at is up to scratch. A pre-load on the 19th would be tremendously helpful too but I won't hold my breath.
@tobyonekenobe The Windows Store usually allows games to be downloaded around 24 hours before so all should be good ;)
I've seen someone play on a connection around 3-5MBps and all seemed ok. So you could be in luck there too!
@tobyonekenobe nop, you don't need any extra copies.. your game is associated to your account. So you're able to play it anywhere
