Bring back The Shrouded Deep event

  • Please bring back the event but make it a hunters call voyage that would require a high level reputation in order of souls and hunters call.

  • and make sure it doesnt count toward "shrouded ghosts hunted"

  • I feel like this could even just be a Tall Tale along with the other Adventures at this point. I got into the game shortly before the adventures were retired (a bad use of resources to be fair) and I would kill to experience them at least once.

  • @catgirl-x1 A monthly meg hunt live event would be nice as well.

  • Bring back every event and every adventure. They can make them playable as "echoes in the sea of the damned" if they care that much about preserving the sandbox.

That'd be awesome, but although not feasible for some of the adventures, since Port Merrick takes up Golden Sands... a lot can still be done. I truly wish they would take some of the adventures and make them into voyages similar to Legend of the Veil but for other factions.

I'd happily settle for them bringing back a few adventures and then creating a few new ones that can be repeatable.
The Shrouded Deep is the best one by far and if they tweaked it so that it can be done both with other crews OR by one crew/solo that would be amazing. The Shrouded Deep should honestly just be turned into a Hunter's Call ultimate voyage with a few adjustments and tweaks made.

A version of Shrouded Islands would also be insane if they brought it back as a week long event that happens right after Bilge Rats Weeks. The fog could cover a random island for the entire week.
Crews could do a very altered version of the adventure by finding Belle and using her lantern to light braziers around the island, then fight waves of phantoms, then the soulflame captain. Then going to another island to do the dig for the hexing skull. They could even add a few steps to make it more interesting. This could be the Order of Souls boosted rep week, and doing this "adventure" gives really good rep and money if OoS emissary is raised.

The week after can be an altered version of Lost Sands where it combines Merchants and Reapers for boosted rep by doing the activity. Either you vote up Merchants or Reapers and deliver supplies or keg rowboats just like the old adventure.

Then pick another adventure for the final week. DO some big tweaks and changes to it and make it focus on Gold Hoarders boosted rep and rewards.

Each faction now has a week where they get boosted rep and solid gold rewarded. Some of our beloved adventures return as repeatable content that comes out every month on a monthly cycle. Each adventure serves as another really good focal point for everyone on the server to possibly interact with if they are trying to do these activities for boosted rep. High risk, high reward in a sense.

  • @thamb0 "Echoes in the sea of the damned" covers that.

  • @potatosord yes... echoes implying the old adventures come back exactly as they were..
If you read my post though, I'm saying I'd rather have them hand select a few, make gameplay changes to them so they coincide with a repeatable fun loop and good rewards to turn in... then make them a week by week "event" for each faction, so that it can loop between Bilge Rats Weeks into these new semi-adventure weeks until the next Bilge Rats..
    Just a pipe dream though..

  • @thamb0 Echo means it returns, but an echo is not a perfect recreation.
If you read my post, I say "IN the sea of the damned" IN. As in, NOT in the normal Seas.
In the sea of the damned does not mean there can be no loot or no PvP. The sea of the damned has hosted events in the past with multiple players, notably one event where they had to extend the event and change player spawn rules because too many players were going out of their way to ruin the event for other players.

  • @potatosord again, I understand what you're saying...
you obviously don't understand what I'm saying.
I understand you're asking for the old adventures as they were. IN the sea of the damned. That would be fine...
You did not read my entire post if you can't tell that I'm asking for a variation of those old adventures but in a way that makes it available IN High Seas as content that furthers factions and makes it fun for everyone to repeatedly do them.
I get that you want the old adventures IN the sea of the damned.. My initial sentence saying it's not feasible is because I doubt Rare would replicate the ENTIRE map IN the sea of the damned just for adventures to be replayed once and if it wasn't IN the sea of the damned, then obviously as I stated, it wouldn't work for all of them to be brought back.
If they made changes to the adventures so that they could be repeatable and worthwhile, then they would be a good addition to the game.
You keep altering your comment, so I'll end it here. Good day!

They already made a circle of death. Prevent you from going outside the boundaries. Easy to spawn you in some SS type area, where you can only go to these certain locations, and once the story is done, send you back.
SotD is all about memories...who's to say those memories aren't fully right or remembered correctly? They can change stuff up just to fit.

A good way to do this would just be portal hopping as you complete segments.
    Example: Shrouded Islands.
The starting point is the old Golden Sands outpost. Once you finish with whatever story here, you sail off or instantly ported over to Shipwreck...finish the deeds and off you go to Arch, finishing what needs to be done. Heck, you don't even need a ship; you can simply be taken by, say, a "Guide" who is also with you, say maybe Pirate Lord or Belle. Using some new item found in the Seas that allows us to pass between memories. As they fill you in what happen before along with adding new stuff to fill in gaps. :p
