General feedback from recent update

  • Just a general feedback... since the new update it has been very difficult to enjoy the game. As someone who isn't very skilled in gaming overall, I have enjoyed safer seas as it matches my skill level better.
Since the new update it seems that I cannot go from 1 Island to another without being swarmed with 1 and or 2 skeleton ships PLUS a megalodon and my ship is sunken within minutes and I lose any progress that I have made. The last 3 times I have played this has happened and it makes it less enjoyable. I would be okay if I was given 1 skeleton ship at a time but 2 WITH a Meg is overkill and it seems to only be this way since the new update and I feel I cannot learn how to play it properly.

    Kind regards,

    Kind regards,

Do you sail perhaps into the Fleet - in the middle of teh map, Nort-East of Reaper's Hideout ? Or close by the current Smuggler Route (currently between Plunder Valley and Crescent isle), that route is patrolled by Skeleton ships.

  • @lem0n-curry I was a bit more left on the map but was aiming for Ruby's fall/Morrow's Peak out post, its the area I used to go to but now it seems nearly impossible to get there I think I started on ancient spires...

  • @b1ackr0se77

There are strategic things you can do in these situations when playing solo.

It might be within your interests to continue sailing towards anything other than open sea when this occurs, this will force the meg to stop pursuing you as it can only do so in open water.

Taking on two skeletons ships at the same time is more than doable but will involve some fast movements and micro managing repairing and bailing, prioritize larger lower holes in the lower deck and trying not to let the water spill above the stairs from the lower deck. If you use rocks or islands as a blocker and position your ship in such a way as to have a view of skeleton ships emerging from both sides from the cannons, you can guard your position effectively, providing you bail water and do your necessary repairs as required. You can probably survive for awhile with one or two holes remaining open providing you remember to bail the water to prevent it's level from rising too much.

Wait until you start hunting the Redmaw and are attacked by a skelly sloop mid battle 😂

You think playing safer seas would give you a reduction in skeleton and Meg spawns??

  • @b1ackr0se77 you can dive to an ashen gold hoarder captain dig quest that will take you right to the roar and you will bypass sailing through anything.

The spawns seem to be off again. I have been getting 2 skeleton ships spawn at me at the same time again. That shouldn't be happening. That old bug seems te have resurfaced again.

  • @soloventure6142 wow that's great advice thank you! I'll work on those things

  • @elmo6842 Oh thats wonderful! I will try that! Thank you ☺️

  • @super87ghost It did seem like there were more being spawned in than what it used to, I wouldn't normally get ambushed that much

  • not saying this in a mean way.... but just uninstall? hear me out...

you seem to be similar to myself. you enjoy the pve element of the game. you dislike pvp. you login to complete some tasks but every time you leave an island you get unwanted pve spawns that are just adding speed bumps to your progress. easyish to deal with MOST of the time... but every so often the game will decided to spawn a random skeleton galleon on a solo sloop (no not part of the fleet event. just either a low chance of happening OR a bug from when skeleton galleons were the only skeleton ship? the addition of the smuggler skeleton ships full of useless loot no one wants. if you are working on skeleton ship commendation after getting pirate legend this skeleton ship frequency is kind of amazing. but as you said you play safer seas pirate legend is out of reach.

if they are going to unlock everything in safer seas, which they are dead set on not making it better, then the bottom line is we arent the type of player they want in their game. which i guess is fine if they dont like to keep more potential cash shop customers around... they have lost millions already because of it. but their vision for the game is stronger than their drive for profit.. honestly commendable in a way? or they dont realize how much they are hurting themselves with this mentality.

sadly with only 1 ship on the server the pve elements only have 1 choice for attacking so you get ALL the spawns. the 2 skeleton ship issue might be lack of experience on your part? if you see a ship cloud up in the sky that is a world even where you fight waves of skeleton ships so when that cloud is up, avoid the center of the map.

i love the art of this game, i love the world, the pve. the fact servers still run like garbage hurts the experience. their focus the wrong things and going full OCD mode on stuff no one actually cares about that has more a negative impact on player moral than anything else. IE the doubloon issue. literally no one cared. add the items so we finally had something to spend the money on. instead they swing the problem in the total opposite direction.... the screw up the reset and decide they should punish the few people who managed to keep their doubloons and could buy all the things right away.

as theres literally no progression aside from gold farming in safer seas and gold is useless af.... lets just go find something better to play?

  • @super87ghost if there is legit 2 skeleton ships spawning together or back to back i would blame the OG skeleton ships and smuggler skeleton ships being different. also if you are near the smuggler router that ship will always be up or if it sinks for some reason it will respawn again fairly quick 5-10 minutes. smuggler ships need to go. period.

  • @quitespace1450 I do agree partly, I feel the IDEA of safer seas, should be more focused on less Pvp and less attacking more 'chilling' and 'collecting' slowly so to speak. I understand bugs are a given in a lot of games, but the '2-skeleton-plus- megladon' situation is a bit over kill for an area of those who are learning to play before getting into the big lobby's...

  • @quitespace1450 Non of those 3 times it happened last week it was close to the smuggler's route. First time was close to Galleon's Grave, 2nd time was close to Barnacle's Cay and the 3rd time was around Cinder Islet. So all far away from the Smuggler's route.

  • Since the new update it seems that I cannot go from 1 Island to another without being swarmed with 1 and or 2 skeleton ships PLUS a megalodon

3 days afterwards, I have not had a single moment where this has happened to me. I'm quite curious what factors go into play or was it straight up, bad luck that caused it.

But like all complaints players throw out, no evidence? No source?
How do we know what happened, where it actually happened?

BUT! I do say this: it is a bug if it's not normal, which so far aims in that direction; the only way to be sure is, and I know players hate doing this.
Send a support ticket out and get a clearer confirmation on it.

In a way, if you cant handle two skeleton ships, you're going to not like HS. If you can't deal with a Meg, you're not going to like HS.
If you can't handle challenges in this game, you're not going to like the whole game once you get out of your comfort zone.
