Breakable water barrel plug

  • Sometimes you end up on a ship with no firebombs, and the only way to sink them is by getting tiny holes ramming into islands, meaning you have to spawncamp for an awkwardly long time

    You should be able to break the water barrel hole open, it would function as a regular repairable tier 4 hole that always flows (even on land or on a 2nd deck galleon). A tier 4 hole is equivalent to 2 fire holes

    This would function to reduce long instances of spawncamping by giving a consistent way to sabotage boats, that is easy to understand (fire sinking is not very intuitive). With the bonus of a consistent way to sink island camping spots

  • I think this would be too OP.

    • It's quicker than fire
    • It's less noticeable than fire unless you are actually on the ship and can hear the water running, which makes it incredibly powerful for tucking plays.
    • It add another interaction point to a cramped area of the ship in order to repair it.

    Nah, remove the "Always flows" and just fills the ship with what ever amount of water is in the barrel. Could be a finisher. Or Starter :P

  • I like this idea. I'm sure some changes would need to be made to balance it but it should be added to the game in some way.

    I think other forms of ship sabotage would be cool as well, perhaps filling an opponent's cannon with a bag of sand so they have to unload it before firing? again, these are all just ideas and would have to be balanced somehow.

    They should take a page from wild gate and open up way more opportunities for boarder sabotage in general.

    People have different playstyles. Aside from that, boarding and camping is one of the most reliable ways of pinning runners down. Leaving their boat and giving up control to give them holes just results in them raising mast/anchor and running again.

  • The closest thing to this functionality they should add is when the barrel is full, extra water pumped in spills out, but it should have to be a purely active thing, not a push one button and run away type thing.

    Yeah, but you could just use your own boat's firebombs, or cannonballs, for that matter. Also it couldn't always flow, because boats don't have running water. It should only use as much as the water in the barrel.
