Yeah, and it wouldn't surprise me if they made surprise-mechanics after this, making certain world events give a chance of dropping it (FotD, Fleet, Burning Blade etc.) but even if they didn't, I'll get it when I get it, and won't hold my breath. The 300-achievement cannons aren't the kind I use and will never use, and I don't care about getting a shovel or musical instruments. I'll get it when I get it. If that means never, I'm fine with that too. In the meantime, I'm making hilarious clips of us tucking on ships, making mischief, and seeing what we can get away with. Whatever we find along the way is a bonus.
A while ago, we had a friend of ours (who has the word 'default' in his name) tuck on some new players. Since they were new, we didn't want to sink them, but we wanted to have fun with them. So he typed out that he was an automated new program in the game, similar to Alexa or Siri, where all they had to do was ring the bell 3 times for assistance, and other players who volunteered to be "helpers" nearby would come to help. They rang the bell 3 times to test it, we "somehow magically" sail over to exactly where they were, telling them the system alerted us they needed help, and they couldn't believe it. I couldn't speak as I was dying of laughter, because we imagined after we logged off, the next time they needed help, say if they encountered a meg, one guy would be down below repairing/bucketing, while the other would be doing nothing but frantically ringing the bell for help.
When I was new to the game, some jive turkey told me I could shoot seagulls for food. To prove it, he shot at seagulls flying above us, ran over, and came back showing me a raw chicken leg. He said the system logs it as "chicken". I tried for hours trying to kill a seagull, and couldn't do it before I caught on. Now, I pay it forward.
