Can using a controller converter be considered cheating?

  • Can using keyboard mouse conversion controllers be considered cheating?
I encountered some players in console only matches.
They can quickly turn and aim accurately.
They use sniper rifles. It can turn 180 degrees in the air and shoot you accurately.
If you use the joystick normally and want to achieve a 180 degree turn in the air, you need to adjust the viewing angle sensitivity very high.
When your sensitivity is very high, it becomes difficult to aim accurately.
They use a controller converter to disguise the keyboard and mouse as controllers.
They use the high precision of keyboards and mice to deal with us users who normally use controllers.
In my opinion, these people who use external hardware to gain greater advantages are no different from users who cheat with software on the PC side.

  • It’s poor sportsmanship if they have to use K&M on a console only server.

Doubt though it breaks any rules…….

  • On a console only server, not cheating; on a console+controller only server, definitely cheating.

  • @lem0n-curry I use XSX to play games, and I have seen players in PVP who can turn 180 degrees in the air and shoot accurately at you.

  • @burnbacon They use an external device to disguise the keyboard and mouse as controllers.
They have higher control sensitivity than normal controller users.
If you want to achieve a 180 degree turn in the air. Adjust the viewing angle sensitivity to the highest level.
You will find it difficult to aim accurately.

What apparatus you play on doesn't matter in this context, it's the server you're on with your console.

Does XSX not allow keyboard & mouse ? AFAIK consoles allow this, so if you're playing on console only servers you would be able to encounter k+m besides controller players.
SoT offers (at least for Xbox) console+controller servers, where you should NOT encounter players using k+m... if they somehow can connect to these servers (with the help from some piece of hardware I believe), they would be cheating.

  • Its becoming a pretty common thing for online games to consider these cheating, but as someone who hates using controllers I can somewhat see it as accessibility. I used one for Titanfall on the XB1 and it was the only reason I enjoyed that game.
