One Piece X Sea Of Thieves

if you watched all one piece you would know it actually fits very well with sea of thieves

I always thought it would be cool if they did a Peter Pan/Hook crossover. Add crocodiles and ferries/pixies to the game.

@southwest-db601 Nah, a Peter Pan collab would be better. Anime has nothing to do with Sea of Thieves. One piece might be a pirate anime but it still would not work in canon or in a practical sense for one piece to ever come to sea of thieves. I don't think many sea of thieves fans even watch anime, or at the very least, one piece.

@burnbacon I have watched all one piece every episode that’s exactly why ik it fits perfectly i heard there already trying to colab with one piece there just waiting for a response from the creators of one piece

@thunderdrago205 There are 40 million people who have played SoT. Out of that I guarantee there is enough that like anime for it to be worth it.

I remember watching a video several years ago now - I think it was by Captain Falcore - where he combed through existing lore, namely the "A Pirate's Life" tall tales, and found that Captain Hook is already being teased as a major antagonist. If I recall correctly, he's the enigmatic and as-yet-unseen leader of the Dark Brethren, and was the one who pressed Davy Jones into their service by stealing his heart. In the chair reserved for him, you will notice copious scratches on the left armrest, as well as his trademark double-cigar holder. Additionally, it's strongly hinted at that the artifact Jack Sparrow used to travel between worlds might in fact contain Tinker Bell. In other lore, it's hinted that Hook was involved with Flameheart Jr arriving in the Sea of Thieves, though Hook himself and the Dark Brethren are not affiliated with the Reaper's Bones.

I've been hoping, praying, begging, coping, etc for this, for SO long. I don't think a tall tale would be good, but I absolutely think it's possible that we get One Piece cosmetics in the emporium.

And I will buy every single one of them.

@southwest-db601 Funny enough, if we DO get One Piece cosmetics, I think it will be from the live action show (still completely fine by me). I say this because during Season 1, Xbox/Microsoft did a collaboration with Netflix/One Piece to do a custom Xbox Series X.

And now today, Xbox UK specifically replied to Netflix's post, talking about Chopper, who just got revealed this weekend, for Season 2 of the live action. Couple that with the fact we have the Xbox showcase this weekend, I think there's at least a slim chance it could be One Piece.

@valor-omega honestly if they where to do it I feel like they should go big cause one piece ain’t no small company they could do it like the jack sparrow and monkey island tall tales they could even add devil fruits in you could chose for the tall tales only those specific tall tales would give you the power you eat but it would also work like they show if you fall in water you sink and die and to make the colab go even harder they could add the ship sets in pirate emporium for one peice there is so many ships on one piece and on top of that if they did add it as a tall tale they could also give rewards that are one piece themed for completing them maybe even add a new curse in the Game Called Haki with the red Arua there is so much that colab would bring to the game and from what I heard from one of the sea of thieves members in discord there trying to colab with one piece just haven’t heard a response back I could understand why one piece is one of the most well known anime’s there is and I feel it actually fits perfectly with sea of thieves it would bring both company’s bank and bring way more followers to the game which we need seas is kinda dying tbh less players by the day bolded text

@ewokbuilder Well aware. I am quite certain that if we do get a One Piece crossover, it will only be emporium-based, and that is completely fine with me. All I want is Going Merry ship cosmetics.

Though i'll say outside Devil Fruits/Haki from One Piece, the world and themes would absolutely fit in absolutely fine, because it's all similar pirate themes (Pirates Vs GMU/EIC/Marines/World Government.

I've given this some thought. I had never played Monkey Island before I did the tall tales. Playing Pirates Life made me re-watch the pirates movies after years of forgetting they existed. So I think that a One Piece collab could motivate me to watch the show if the story was compelling.

@potatosord One Piece enjoyer, here. I am biased, but in my honest opinion, One Piece has one of the best, if not the best stories in any anime. While it absolutely is a time investment, the character development, world-building, loveable characters, and story is next to none.

I can also recommend trying the live action, as it's only 8 episodes, but does a pretty great job of encapsulating the first story arc (East Blue Arc), with some minor changes/additions.

I have watched the majority of one piece by this point and there is really nothing in common between it and sot beyond being about pirates in a special sea. Past that the type of fantasy and style of comedy of sot and one piece have are so contrast different from each other that it would likely clash hard if they were combined.

Pirates life and to some degree monkey island both worked in sot specifically because those were the games direct inspirations, so they actually could be fit into the game in a way that actually fits, especially pirates life. One piece essentially being an action show about building up as much power as possible (something common in a lot of anime i noticed) with an almost slapstick style of comedy, while potc is centered around a lowly pirate with a reputation to mess everything up in his favor or to comedic effect, and just awkward humor and crazy antics sprinkled around.

There really is no angle i can see for the life of me that the two could have an official cross over beyond just cosmetics alone.

@goldsmen I agree, One piece is just one of those collabs that I don't see ever happening in sea of thieves, mainly because of the licenses and the fact that anime and sea of thieves does not go good together. Sea of thieves has a very different art style.

@goldsmen Agreed. I don't know that a tall tale would work - maybe some kind of in-game event, but honestly? I just want cosmetics. Even just Going Merry Ship cosmetics would make me a happy camper.

@thunderdrago205 Agreed on the anime bit. That's why I think the Netflix Live action would probably fit best/be what they go with - especially since they already collabed with microsoft to make a limited series X
