Various improvements from a new player.

  • Hello, I recently picked up this game and love everything about it, but I noticed some areas which could be improved. These are my observations so far, might find more as I sail the seas.

    • While auto run is on press forward to cancel.

    • Tall tale first time completion to give more money, like 10-20k depending on story and length to encourage completing more tall tales.

    • Loot barrels on spawn outpost should be refilled upon joining a new game, sometimes they're all empty.

    • Make the game more time respecting, like ability to save checkpoint every 5-10 minutes during tall tales. Sometimes I find myself rushing to get to a checkpoint if I need to leave pc. Or add longer afk time, to not risk losing all progress incase something comes up. Now it feels like I need to plan a few hours in advance to have a good session.

    • Adjustable/higher diving sensitivity, on regular low sensitivity its extremely sluggish to dive and orient, especially during shrines.

    • Skip pages quickly when reading books hold e or q, when I rejoin a checkpoint from a tall tale or I want to see certain details I have to go page by page.

    • Item shop sorting options, by available to purchase, price etc.

    • Time expired/limited number of tries quests like gold hoarders guild quest should have a warning upon cancelation or possibility to start again if you cancel by mistake.

  • I always thought the gold reward was too low for tall tales. Like, ridiculously low.

    Just scale it for time and try to prevent/cut out any exploity stuff

  • Agreed on that one... if its timespent VS reward then the payout is quite low...

    But you could potentially argue that the rewards for completing the commendations may be the reason for the discrepancy. But even then, a small bump in Tall Tale payout would be nice and maybe encourage more players to revisit them.

    They reload at 6am (i think) and it just bad luck to find one empty.

    Most gamers do. They set time up for a whole day if they must to enjoy video games, it part of life and growing up. It actually a good skill to learn and use.

    I think maybe 15-20 min afk would be nice, or some option to keep the progress for a little while, sometimes the dog needs walking or a urgent short erand comes up that I can't forsee.

    I wanted to try the limited time gold hoarders thing that I had one attempt on, but I didn't wanna do it solo so I did open crew but my teammate left when he saw what I wanted to play. So I cancelled while waiting for another teammate to join, and to my surprise I couldn't find it again afterwards. I guess it's just a rookie mistake, but it could be good to have a warning on these limited quests so it doesn't happen to anyone else.

  • Loot barrels respawn roughly 5-10 mins lowest and 30 mins highest (i was able to catch 5 fish and put them away after emptying out port merrick earlier)
