Season 13 Achievements/Trophies/Commendations thoughts?

    Just curious as to everyone's thoughts on the Achievements/Trophies/Commendations added for season 13 now that it is a few weeks old. I enjoy trophy hunting, but after giving the Burning Blade (BB) some time, I think the commendations and subsequently the trophies chosen, are a bit absurd for the following reasons:

    1. Baseline requirement of having the skeleton curse. Two of the commendations require that grind to be completed and then do 8 rituals wearing that curse on the BB 10x. (Two because doing this commendation is a requirement for a second)
    2. How difficult it is to sink the BB when it has players on it. This affects both sinking the BB while being an Athena's Emissary and also selling the sword with 3+ rituals. Sinking the player captained BB requires minimum two sloops, yet there is only 1 sword. So you have to hope that A) You are able to sink it before they just run to reapers, B) they have done enough rituals on the sword, and C) Other player(s) do not want to turn in the sword as well. And then you have to do it 20x? I know they are addressing the BB's ability to run, but it still feels difficult.

    I know the game is not tailored to solo players like myself, and trophies should also not be tailored to specific players, but the general idea of some of these achievements/trophies/commendations feel borderline unachieveable. SoT has some extremely challenging trophies, but can eventually be done with enough grinding, but these are such specific requirements that it seems like it crosses that threshold. Again, I recognize that the game does not exist for me to be able to get these commendations or trophies, but its one of the largest aspects of the game I enjoy. I dont mind a good challenge as long as it feels doable, but after gaining some experience with the BB, they borderline do not feel doable. I am just curious if I am the only one who feels that way?

  • season 7 really changed this game as far as new commendations/rewards go

    That was when they truly made it unrealistic for organic play to do everything. People cheese stuff and people coordinate massively to complete stuff but organic play was tapped out of the completitionist stuff in season 7.

    I just take the incompatible with the compatible.

    Season 12 was like someone just made commendations specifically for my type of play. I've never had anything as compatible with my style of extreme organic play before.

    Season 13 is a mixed bag, I'm not doing any of the Captaining grind. I did the orbs and I'm stealing/taking 60 cofs this season to finish that comm.

    Sot just is what it is. Kinda all over the place but still has fun stuff to do.

    I did all my comms organically and all the the ones that require participation from others are generally a nightmare to get done because of how rare it is to just stumble upon some of the necessary scenarios, and then perform to get the credit. The mass cheating event pretty much killed the organic scenario for the BB. Even though Rare handled it well it's still gonna have a major negative effect for participation. Their patch could make it even worse depending on what they decide to change.

    I would just play to have fun in a session/grind, this game really doesn't shine with the organic grind, it's too inconsistent and it's too frustrating in that way. This game does pirate adventure very well, not so much on the comm/significance parts of it.

  • I’m waiting until season 14 before doing any of the 13 stuff. By then it be nerf so bad, others won’t do it. But me XD
