Mystery [Mega Thread]

  • Used anagram solver for AFORECLOUD and have no idea how it was missed... FECAL ODOUR... we're looking for someone REALLY STINKY... I mean... They smell like pooh... Please don't delete this as irrelevant... If the shoe fits... Until I'm proven wrong I could be sniffing in the right place... lol

  • any ideas what the pointing triangles mean?

  • @impymidna2303 sagte in Mystery [Mega Thread]:

@takpak07 Maybe rotate the star map to 180 on something? The four square map?

Rotating the four square map is not nessesairy since it was only a clue for the four square cipher.

  • Okay guys, I am now 100% sure that H=Hogarth, also that he's an outcast whos in league with the Dark Brethren, so here's how I know he's H, prepare to be mind blown. lol

1 - He's the mysterious "Scholar" from the Legend of the Sunken Kingdom voyage we get from Larinna, who taught Humphrey everything he knows.
2 - He suffered the Coral Curse from the remains of an ancient warrior, this might explain the trailer dialogue "Unjust Punishment" and "Cold to the Touch" and that he was locked in that stone room with the curse for decades, "Held still for Years".
3 - Bullion Coins are found in Sunken Kingdoms during the voyage and now they are washing up on beaches since H came along.
4 - He feared to be blamed by Rathbone because of Humphrey sending his gold to his wife, Annalee so he fled, never to be seen again.
5 - The description of Hogarth's Rapier in game states that the cutlass belonged to him before he mysteriously vanished.
6 - HSeesAll's profile picture shows his eyebrows are gold brown much like Hogarth's hair color from the comic.
7 - A gold line across Hogarth's face is similar to the Defaced Skull.
8 - In the previous mystery, Portrait of Plunder if you look at the main picture that has a portrait of HUMPHREY, there appears to be red paint smeared on his face, this CLEARLY indicates that Hogarth has a burning GRUDGE towards the man for his suffering. alt text
9 - Look back at the very first mystery, Skin of Gold, you'll see H, dressed in Dark Adventurer clothing, writing the books, but look closer and you'll see a paper with HUMPHREY on it with a scribble across his face! alt text

This, ladies and gentlemen, THIS is why Hogarth is OBSESSED (says so in his last letter for the Crowning Glory). This isn't about gold or whatever's inside the last chest, unless it is that will help in his quest for vengeance since he quoted "Turn the key...and all will end for THEM", this is about him getting EVEN with Humphrey and see the Gold Hoarders perish, he's taking his hatred out on the one man who ruined his reputation to the Gold Hoarders!

  • @impymidna2303
    Very impressive thoughts!
But what relation does it have to the solving of our mystery? What clue does it gives us in terms of the final code?

  • @takpak07 If we know who H is we could figure out clues based on lore behind the character and their experiences within the hoarders.

  • @takpak07 Idk but MAN, I made a good list of him being the man we're looking for, now we just need to find the last code that describes him like the codes 2FACED, OUTC4ST, and GRUDG3.

  • @volk7845
Good idea, i did not think about that!

  • @impymidna2303
If these are attributes of our mysterious H, we can take a look at the lore as @Volk7845 suggested!
Maybe then we will be able to solve it.

  • There is sadly not much but try to add in any mysterious hoarders from past tall tales, voyages, adventures, books or anything else that you can find so we can add those in as plausible acts he has done.

  • @impymidna2303
Nice! Could you please send me the video link? So i can have a look at it too.

  • @impymidna2303
    Oh yeah alright! Thank you.

  • @impymidna2303 Part of this, I just realized each picture from the stages are taking place at Port Merrick (or Sea Fort since the ship with the Defaced Sails on HSeesAll's background is docked at a Sea Fort but its hard to tell),

Skin of Gold - Hogarth is writing his journals at the tavern.
Feathered Fortune - A parrot overlooking Port Merrick.
Portrait of Plunder - Portrait of Humphrey somewhere at the port.
The Crowning Glory - Gold Skull in Hugh's Gold Hoarder Bank at Port Merrick.

Guessing Hogarth is hiding at Port Merrick, which is odd because it turns out Humphrey (the guy he's been painting red on the picture along with the scribbled face of him on paper) is at Sanctuary Outpost, few miles away. Or the devs were just using the location for each title but who knows.

  • My inputs, guys...
First, the allmighty voice said in h's letter is Rare thief. They were wrong in the word puzzle, and most of us got along with it.

    Second:
"Delivers you letters essential to read" could be alphabet, mail, pigeon...

But my main theory is BOTTLE. Its were we find the quests in the game. As messages in a bottle.

But I have tried using that as the last cypher, and putting it after youareapiratepupppet site and got nothing.

Maybe one of you can expand on that.

Its not about the gold. But about the glory. Good luck.

  • @felipejokerxbox
I think thats a solid idea, I'm gonna add it to my list of keys to test/look out for the results of since its 6 letters long.

  • @felipejokerxbox It seems like alphabet is the correct answer. The alphabet is being used for the fourth "square" in the four square cipher, and the four square cipher has given us the correct decoded words.

  • At this point, I think we need another hint from Rare. There are tons of ways to put together the clues for the word search, so until someone gets lucky, It seems we are going to be using the process of elimination for the word search.

  • OUSTEDRELICSOULTRA... that is not OUSTED RELIC SOUL TRA...

OUSTED RELIC SO ULTRA... meaning it's damn awesome... And follows the theory of using this relic for revenge...

Which also changes unused letters... Fewer now...ADEPIxS... x being wild... Some interesting results... PLEIADS for one... A group of illustrious or talented people, especially one with seven members... Coincidence? Pleiads is plural though so multiple groups of 7?

  • Interesting.

  • also got Aphides which are hexapods... Elapids which are snakes... Cobras are elapids...

  • @gaudierpuppy866

Hummm.. that makes sense, since the other words seem to make sense in the cypher... damn.

  • @ozzv76 Could PLEIADS mean the word, PLEIADES?

    PLEIADES
Called the SEVEN Sibling Stars, a group of more than 800 stars located about 410 light-years from Earth in the constellation Taurus.

  • Beware the rage of acid
    Scour, vent and employ,
with a fury to engage and gloat,
    spurs greeds downfall.
    Basest with jealousy ye find
ten thoughts above themed in disgust.
Make time to cheat the dead,
free the souls trapped in relic.
    Imposters of the deep,
    ruffians mostly adept.
    Loss of yer rickety ship,
    have ye lasted out or
    sensed toxic seasickness?
    Servants of the heart
    ready yer taxed gold
    for they are hexapods
    and rottenly vicious!

  • @impymidna2303 yes... Near the Taurus constallation... Also got the word dispace... Essentially halving a starmap...

  • It does not seem likely that the crossword will include the star map or other clues, as each of the previous puzzles (logic puzzle, directional puzzle, star map) only required the papers comprising them.

  • Since Hogarth is the Mysterious "Scholar" who Humphrey mentioned as the guy who taught him everything he knows, could the voyage, Legend of the Sunken Kingdom we get from Larinna be connected to the chest picture that has the answer to the final hunt?

H (aka the Scholar) was locked in the chamber with the remains of an ancient warrior where he suffered the Coral Curse which explains from the Trailer dialogue, "Held still for years...", "An unjust punishment..." and "Cold to the touch..."

Next post is reading off the JOURNAL written by H that might have connections to the picture.

  • Man this mystery is tough. Has anyone found the code yet?

  • @impymidna2303

This journal seems to belong to the Scholar who wrote the warning...

    -Part 1 -
It has taken most of my strength, not to mention the last of my breath, to reach this place. Now that I am here, I finally understand the truth. (his description of the Coral Curse?) Strange as it may sound, I believe that this entire shrine was once above the waves like any other island. The central chamber would have been at sea level.

This made it an ideal meeting place, both for the ancient people who once made these seas their home and for their allies — the merfolk. I do not know for certain what they discussed here. Few Ancient texts remain, and I lack the fabled means to commune with the mer themselves.

I have deduced, however, that there was a gathering here. An assembly, on the eve of the plague.

    -Part 2 -
What if your entire being, all that you were or had ever been, was held in a song? So it is for those who dwell below the surface of the sea.
And what, then, if you could no longer find a voice with which to sing? Divergence was inevitable. Exile, absolute. And, in time, one culture became two. Merfolk and Sirens, connected by a forgotten past.

The Sirens had to change to survive. And when they found their voices once more, theirs was now a song of sorrow. Grief for all that they had lost.
Their sorrow crystallising into anger — a righteous fury, urging them onward to war.

    -Part 3 -
Perhaps the Ancients would have left the merfolk to fight their war alone, if they could have. They soon found themselves embroiled, regardless.
The chaining of Old Mother, the mighty Kraken that the Sirens had begun to treat with a devotion that bordered on worship, saw to that.
The Sirens launched attacks against Ancients and the merfolk with equal ferocity, clawing at their ships and stealing away anyone who fell overboard.

The Ancients possessed much knowledge, but their life within the Devil's Shroud had made them complacent. Many had forgotten how to fight.
There was one among them, however, a warrior... She took up her blade and strode fearlessly into the sea, vowing to end the war once and for all...

    -Last Part -
The warrior returned to her home victorious, having forced the Sirens to retreat into the darkness, where they slumbered and dreamed of revenge.
The cost of her triumph was all too clear, for the Ancients were masters of the arcane, and sensed the curse of a sunken sorrow within her heart.

They decreed that this island become a shrine to her sacrifice, and entombed her remains here before departing, perhaps forever.
And now, as I watch the light shimmer beneath my skin, and feel the weight in my own heart, I too understand the power of this curse.

I must seal this shrine once again. Hide the key. Warn others of the danger within, before it is too late...

  • WAIT, if the chest picture is showing the answers in front of us, could it be these symbols that represent the SHROUDBREAKER and the stones that go in it!? ALSO, these stones come from the Kraken.
