New Magic Artefacts

  • Came up with some ideas for interesting new treasure to spice things up. I thought it was a little unfair that all the cursed chests were associated with the Gold Hoarders, so I tried to come up with an interesting magical item for other trading companies, and rather than being cursed, would have useful one-time effects – the downside being once used, they couldn’t be sold, which would get a fair chunk of change. What do you think?

    • Trade Wind Jar
      A magical vessel that can be sold to the Merchant Alliance or used while on your ship to give a big burst of speed for a short time by briefly filling your sails even if you're against the wind – great for either catching up to or getting away from other pirates! Once used, the pottery breaks into shards. Found rarely on shipwrecks.

    • Summoner’s Skull
      A special type of skull that can be thrown like a blunderbomb, whereupon it breaks and summons a group of skeletons where it lands. Can be sold to the Order of Souls and is rarely dropped from defeating Skeleton Captains.

    • Hunter’s Lure
      A special lure of Serik’s design, it can attract any kind of fish but always a trophy version. Rarely, if used in open water, it might summon a Megalodon or the Kraken! Once a fish is caught or monster summoned, it is used up. Found rarely amongst floating barrels or instead of bait when digging, and can be sold to the Hunter’s Call.

    Just some simple ideas for more loot variety and fun mechanics :)

  • Upvote from me. Love the idea of more cursed/usable items/weapons. The Ashen Winds Skull and the Trident of Dark Tides were awesome additions to the game.

    Trade Wind Jar - Definetley not, this community cannot have nice things, while in theory this is a great idea, ''content creators'' and pvp focused people will do everything to exploit this and demolish everyone with their turbo brig/gally.

    Summoners Skull - I love this idea, but the skellys should attack anyone regardless.

    Hunter's Lure - I'm down as long as I can lure some Athenas or better GH chests with something similiar :D

    You got my intent for the Summoner's Skull - they don't answer to anyone :P
    And yeah, I knew there would be issues with the Jar, but I struggled coming up with something that would associate nicely with the Merchant Alliance.
    Any other ideas for something for them?
