Melee

  • With all this talk of 'FIX PVP' imo I would at the very minimum expect a Melee Strike mechanic added.

    I hope this is widely considered

    & not the first time mentioned!

    That's the only thing it would compliment. Everything else in PvP becomes sad:(

  • @mistuhmarz let’s introduce bleeding when cut by the cutlass while we are at it. Slow loss of health for a few seconds after being hit but can be stopped by eating.

    If that doesn’t sound fun to you, neither would someone with two guns having the ability to punch in CQC against someone when they miss their 70% and 50% damage shots.

  • I remember back in the N64 days, a particularly beautiful and absolutely deadly red-headed super-spy could use a melee attack to temporarily blur her enemies' vision. I think that would make for an interesting mechanic, but it would be underpowered in a sword-user's hand (since it would be better to just do straight up damage), and also under-powered in a double-gunner's hand when up against a sword-user (since the sword-user will just cut them down up close), and even against a blunder-user (the 'bus will 1-shot, and the 'bomb will knock them back).

    All in all, it's not really worth it; it didn't really work for the particularly beautiful and absolutely deadly red-headed super spy back then ('cause game with lots of guns), and it won't work for us pirates now.

  • I was thinking of bare handed combat as well, but I think it would be ruin pvp balance.
    Instead, this could be implemented with mini games where two people could fight each other in brawls. There could be friendly pvp areas accross the sot where players could fight for fun and placing bets to earn money and commendations.
