@rockace26 i have seen his video and he is dead wrong. if you remove world events and have private servers where you control who can come in (like gta), then boom it negates his entire video
Negative.
There is a very strict fact of PvE games and PvE servers in general. The shelf life of a PvE game is less than a PvP game.
PvE games don't last as long without constant content updates unlike PvP games which are just pretty much cookie cutter games just with new skins.
The PvP is to help supplement the life of the game. Without the PvP, you don't have Sea of Thieves, you'd have a sailing simulator.
Players keep using GTA as a reference for why we should have a safe place but GTA is a different game. EvE Online is arguably the harshest game on the market and its been popular since 2003. A game where if you die you lose everything. A game where players can still attack you in your "safe space" and you still lose everything.
Sea of Thieves is its own type of game. There really isn't another type of game like it out on the market. There are plenty of space sims, FPS games, third person games, MMO's, MOBA's.
Sea of Thieves is the first of its kind and the mandatory PvP is necessary for its life span. I've heard of players complain on server alliances. "Man I wish this game would push out content faster, there is nothing to do. I'm getting bored" or the best one "What?? I have to do all this all over again?? Doesn't this game have anything new. I hate having to do these things all over again, game is so boring, I need more content."
They complain the most about lack of content because they are rushing through it in server alliances. PvP is a necessary evil in the game.
