Spawn Killing

@rockace26 i have seen his video and he is dead wrong. if you remove world events and have private servers where you control who can come in (like gta), then boom it negates his entire video

    Negative.

There is a very strict fact of PvE games and PvE servers in general. The shelf life of a PvE game is less than a PvP game.

PvE games don't last as long without constant content updates unlike PvP games which are just pretty much cookie cutter games just with new skins.

The PvP is to help supplement the life of the game. Without the PvP, you don't have Sea of Thieves, you'd have a sailing simulator.

Players keep using GTA as a reference for why we should have a safe place but GTA is a different game. EvE Online is arguably the harshest game on the market and its been popular since 2003. A game where if you die you lose everything. A game where players can still attack you in your "safe space" and you still lose everything.

Sea of Thieves is its own type of game. There really isn't another type of game like it out on the market. There are plenty of space sims, FPS games, third person games, MMO's, MOBA's.

Sea of Thieves is the first of its kind and the mandatory PvP is necessary for its life span. I've heard of players complain on server alliances. "Man I wish this game would push out content faster, there is nothing to do. I'm getting bored" or the best one "What?? I have to do all this all over again?? Doesn't this game have anything new. I hate having to do these things all over again, game is so boring, I need more content."

They complain the most about lack of content because they are rushing through it in server alliances. PvP is a necessary evil in the game.

  • umm….where do you get your facts??? GTA….DESTINY….both mostly pve based and have been around along time

they have literally said doing something over and over to force someone to scuttle breaks tos…get your facts straight

Good luck proving intent over a video game lol. How do you know they're doing it to make you leave, unless the explicitly say it?

The franchise has been around a long time. There is a GTA 5 and a Destiny 2. Not to mention again the many content updates and expansions.

Facts broski. PvE doesn't have as long of a shelf life, it needs constant updates to keep it fresh. Updates that take a long time to work on and lots of resources to create. PvE gets old onces its completed and there is no goal. MMORPG's survive because of loot grinding. Players will grind the same boss 500 times to get their gear just right. Take away loot grind and MMORPG's would have to release content more frequently.

PvP can literally release the same game with new skins and players will play it. PvP survives because every match is different which means the game stays fresh longer. Competition type genres will always do well as long as the games are fun gameplay wise.

Its the same concept between the differences in entertainment, like movies vs sports. Sports has pretty much been the same and unchanged for decades, yet people will watch it every year like an obsession. Matches will always be different even if the same teams are playing against each other. A movie will be the exact same which means it gets boring faster. Most peeps won't watch the same movie more than once because nothing in the movie has changed.

"I watch (insert movie title) 1000 times!!) - Thats great, but doesn't change my point. Just because you found the one movie you love to rewatch hundreds of times doesn't change the fact that there are hundreds of other movies you liked but don't bother watching again.

    Sorry broski, its facts.

with sea of thieves your in a open world trying to grind things and turn in loot. that is the core…the pvp aspect is an addition to the core of the game because you dont always deal with pvp unless your in arena…but your always dealing with pve, grinding and turning in loot

False. Executive producer Joe Neate has stated before that PvP is at the core of this game.

""People attacking other player's ship, and people stealing items off players and making their getaway and stuff, it's obviously, that's absolutely acceptable as part of Sea of Thieves, it's a shared world, its always been a shared world, it's always been the intent that there is gonna be risks when you are out there on the seas. And so that kind of player behaviour is absolutely within the spirit of Sea of Thieves.""

"The whole core premise of SOT is that it’s a shared world. To get to Pirate Legend, there will be danger and there will be other players, the risk and the reward is all part of it …that’s what SOT has always been, it’s a shared world adventure game, there is a purpose to that…it’s all about a shared world and we have no intention to deviate from that."
