Spawning inside sunken shrines

    Watching a streamer now, inside one of the shrines. A crew of three came into the shrine after him and it's turned into a complete TDM fest. You continually spawn back in the shrine and have to fight.

    Is there some way to break this loop that doesn't involve quitting out of the server? If not, this is a serious problem.

    There's no way to escape a losing pvp position because the ferry won't send you back to your ship. The game literally forces you into the same room.......unless I'm missing something?

    TDM says aye.

    Definitely an issue. But then at the same time you don't want to spawn back on your ship and have to swim down every time.

    Perhaps the treasure mermaid should have had a resume shrine option on the surface.

    Perhaps a choice on the ferry, whether you want to spawn in the shrine or back on your ship?

    The crux of the problem isn't that PvP can occur in the shrines, it's that there's no way out once you want to leave and carry on.

    @habiki Aye that's an interesting one... can't remember what happened in the Pirate's Life tall tales when this happened??

    @sshteeve TDM says Aye! Happened in the APL tall tales as well. Was actually pretty good fun while waiting for the person ahead to clear the boss fight.

    You can “Return to Ship” via the mermaid statues.

    Getting to one alive might be a problem though.

    That would be a problem for a 1v2/3/4 situation where your dying the moment you spawn.. Even worse if you have to hold down a button when interacting with the mermaid to go back to your ship,you'd have no chance and be left in a death loop for as long as either side could endure.

    I'm looking forward to reading some posts on this update over the coming weeks.. It's a campers & griefers paradise right now. Think i'll just row myself to locations and be ready to quit to lobby once i'm in a loop if i'm solo.

    @needsmokes It is a hold, unfortunately.

    Personally, if I was in that situation, and couldn’t get to the Mermaid Statue, I would just leave and hop into a new server. Theres very little commitment needed for the Shrines that nothing is truly lost- you can just sail over and begin exploring.
