Game crashing on launch: 'Faulting Application' (PC). Any advice? (Event Viewer info included).

  • Hi guys,

    I've been playing SoT happily on PC for a long time now as a Game Pass Ultimate subscriber, however since installing the Season 2 update my game now fails to launch. More often than not the game will crash immediately, other times it'll reach the title screen and then crash.

    So far I've:

    • Allowed an exception in AV (Sophos) for the game directory.
    • Made sure Windows 10 20H2 is fully up to date.
    • Made sure all drivers up to date.
    • Checked permissions on 'WindowsApps' folder for the game directory.
    • Reinstalled the game twice (from the Xbox app for Windows).

    Here's what Event Viewer had to say:

    Has anyone else had the same issue, if so, did you manage to resolve it?

    I'm gutted that I haven't had chance to play Season 2 yet. I have reached out to Rare via their support email however last time I did that for an unrelated issue, they took a while to get back to me.

    If anyone has any tips for me to try, please do let me know! Thanks!
