How quick is a quick switch?

@rtl-saint Its the same, despite popular belief there is no quick switch. There is hard coded delay with no way around it, unless somebody has some kind of hack to modify it.

@jadescissors32 your 100% sure? it might feel marginally smaller. if you have a pc could you count the times between each shot thanks, even if you cant

I ma sure, I recorded video and counted frames. :)
Its around 1 second delay between switching to secondary weapon and firing again.
It does not matter what happens in between. There are no magical keys to press to skip that delay (at least I dont know about it)
I heard about hacks that modify that, and I have seen pretty suspicious people in the game. But I don't think there is natural way to do this.

Shortest you can get with scope is around 1.5 seconds (90 frames of 60FPS video) Takes a lot of practice to consistently get that right (I still screw this up from time to time in the heat of the fight), but at some point its muscle memory. I have my fire and scope remapped on Elite controller so they are next to each other, so I press pretty much both at the same time.

@jadescissors32 are you talking with quick switch or nah? or both?

@rtl-saint My paddles are for switch weapons and quick scope/fire/ bunny hop , When you switch weapons you have to wait around 1 second before you scope and fire. Since scope and fire are next to each other I am pressing pretty much both at the same time. Since I use paddles there is no time my thumbs are not on joysticks. That lets me move, bunny hop, scope and fire with out losing control of my character.

FYI Elite controller is a MUST for this game.

@jumli7 I know people do try but I have not found one that works. And I tried a lot of different ones. None had worked.
yes sprint cancel used to work but it does not anymore.
If you use blunder and pistol you can fire with out scope and hit targets so that's lowers 1.5 second to around 1. But that's as good as you can get.
Easy way to try them is to use the cancel and record video at 60 fps. Than go frame by fram and count them.
if you get to like 65-90 than its around second.

@jadescissors32 how much does the paddles help? i use rb to jump, a for food right stick for switch, would you reccomend i use paddles?

@rtl-saint I use paddles for scope and fire primarily, because I can press both with one finger at the angle so it scopes than "accidentally" fires.
if RB is more comfortable for jumps than you can use it, but paddles for me allow me to spam helluva out of bunny hoping because paddles are much shorter travel time than R(B/T) or L(B/T)
Its ok to have food on the trigger and throwables too. Those items are not used as often but if they are on trigger you can still pull them out when needed.
I also have attach to objects on them which allows me to jump from things. On the end you have to find comfortable setup.

@arctroopachedda im asking if sprinting right after switcing weapons acually makes it faster or if it is just a placebo effect.

I dont know, some on this forum wants to ban everything so I am guessing its only matter of time the entitlements kick in and people will be asking to ban Elite controllers?

@rtl-saint So you can not shorten this time, but what you can do is fill that one second with additional things. (be carefull as some things seems to reset timer)
Also you can just spam scope and fire until time elapses and you actually scope and fire. :) Hence why Elite makes that job way easier.
