I've always found it very weird how this game has 5 different Megalodons that really aren't different from each other gameplay wise, aside from some different aggression rates. My idea is to make the Megalodons different from each other with a different fight for each. Also keep in mind that all Megalodons would still have a similar AI of swimming around the ship and they all can still do the charge move. The Hungering One could make big waves in the water that push your ship around, making it hard to stay on course. It would also have a higher chance of spawning in The Shores of Plenty. The Crested Queen could shoot out a shock wave that hits the ship and applies one of the Purple Cursed Cannonball effects. They would also have a higher chance of spawning in The Wilds. The Ancient Terror would also be able to send out a shock wave that instead applies one of the Green Cursed Cannonball effects and would have a higher chance of spawning in The Ancient Isles. The Shadowmaw can only spawn at night and has equal chance of spawning everywhere. He would be able to let out a roar that spawns Shadow Skeletons on your ship that try and kill you. He would also make the water around him jet black at around 25% health, making it impossible to see under water. Also when it turns to day he won't immediately go away, you will have a little extra time to fight him before he runs. The Shrouded Ghost would only be able to spawn within a thick fog. The Shrouded Ghost would be completely silent, making little to no noise as it swims in the water, and making little to no noise or audio as in begins to charge you. It would also fog up your compass and map, preventing you from seeing where you are going. It would make no sounds if you hit it, so you must rely on your hit marker. The only way of telling where it is is to spot its glowing eyes that would be somewhat visible through the fog, or the glowing fin, which would be less visible than the eyes but still noticeable. The spawn chance can also still be stupid low if you want. And while I'm at it, a new Megalodon that I would love to see get added. You could call it The Lava Wader. What it looks like I have no idea, but what it would do is heat up the water around it making you take damage from it and also would cause fires when it did its charge attack. It would also have a higher chance of spawning in The Devil's Roar. That's my idea for the Megalodons. I would really love to see some differences between them as currently they are basically all the same.

@galactic-geek lol, yeah that would be cool as well. it could like pull up to your ship and smash its head down on it to do tons of damage.
@pithyrumble I don't want it to be as rare as it is. But if that's how the devs want it to be that rare then that's their choice.
Apart frome the shadow me spawn skellitons on your which can't be done for technical reasons, even it was possible it won't make any sense anyways. You have some pretty good ideas. I kinda like the idea of a curse meg although it would make them feel to close to skelly ship encounters.
But you have a point the megs could use some verity in there attacks as well a more predictable spawns.

Also I don't know if I made this super clear in the post, but with the Crested Queen and Ancient Terror, they don't have 1 Cursed Cannonball effect. When they do the shock wave it could be any one of the Cursed Cannonballs that corresponds to that Megalodon. Sorry if that was already clear but it seemed like you thought they would have only 1 type, like the skeleton ships. Thx for the response though. No i understood they have all the effects of a class of ccb. Crested will affect the ship while anchient will affect crew. Skelliton ship also shoot mulitple kinds off ccbs not just 1 type. Tought its ofthen a mix between the to classes. It just would feel a bit close as both enconters have a obeject circle around a ship and occasionally ram in to hit or disable with a curse affect from a distance. The only differenc is the skells shoot canonballs which technically you can dodge while the new meg i guess would have a charge time you would have to interrupt.
