Add a Passive mode...tired of being attacked!

The full potential is enjoyed by those not afraid of combat.
The fallacy is that many pirates feel the need to distinguish between pvp and pve.
There is only your boat, your crew, and the threats all of you face.
If your alone it's just that much harder.
So many castaways are in need of a thicker skin.

Arena is a good place to sharpen pvp skills and gain confidence. Adventure is where those skills are rewarded.

Embrace combat, pirate. Your death is inconsequential.
Or just uninstall if you dont have the stomach for fighting.

Guess what, either way you won't be missed.

Wow. Have you ever heard of the search function? Cause y'know, this is a topic that is discussed DAILY!. Please stop. It won't happen, you purchased a pirate game, where pirates will steal your loot and kill you.

I find the game well broken, especially it almost plays solo, when the server puts an enemy with a galleon boat with four players against a player in a covert. That's one of the points where I find it unbalanced. Well unbalanced balancing.

One of the ideas I had was:

1. Server synchronize according to the chosen boat more often.

2. Fully create a private/passive server, but with more AI presence, or making it stronger (kraken, pirate skeleton, shark).

Sometimes I work all day, and I just want to venture calmly, picking up my treasures playing solo. But it discourages when the server syncs with a big boat against 4 players and I just there alone with a lot of chests, and I lose everything against 4 players, it's pretty unfair and unbalanced.

Just for the record I am no fan of PvP but I have still turned over enough loot to own just about every cosmetic and be heading towards 10 million in the bank. So it can be done.

Turn in often
Don't put down rare voyages (Gilded Athena) until you are sure you are on a friendly server.
If you are on a toxic server, leave. Or sink them till they leave
Use the alliance flag and if you are in an alliance make sure you turn something in on a regular basis, People who keep getting paid rarely quit or turn toxic.
If you are in an alliance you can still fly the offer alliance flag to pick up other crews who might not be in your alliance.
Always try to have someone who is good/enjoys PvP on your crew.

The way you use the word "toxic" IS toxic! 🙈 I think the word you are looking for is "spicy"

Passive mode would remove the full potential of the game.

You want a passive mode cause you are sick of being ambushed? Stop being passive them!

I barely get attacked when I sail solo, and if I do, 90% of the crews are blood thristy noobs that can be outplayed easily, so I don't understand the fuss.

Ok, give me a passive mode. Nothing won't stop me from boarding your ship and grapping your loot. You won't kill me, I will explode a keg in your deck. Easy stealing!

Someone should make a "content update" YT video with all these features, so we could answer these threads quickly and move on.

That's like playing Red Dead Redemption 2 and asking for a mode where there are no guns or Cowboys, and it takes place in Antarctica.

That's like playing Luigi's Mansion and asking for a mode where Yoshi is the main character and you don't capture ghosts and it takes place in Bowser's Castle

That's like playing Pokemon and asking for a mode where no Pokemon are present and it's just the trainers fist fighting.

See what I mean? You bought a game that clearly represented itself for what it was, now you want a fundamental aspect of the core gameplay to be removed or changed because you didn't enjoy what you bought. That just doesn't make sense.

@chronodusk that’s because this current young generation of gamers has been taught you always will get what you want. Participation trophies. Every ones a winner. Everyone’s ideas are great ones. Everything handed to them.

They’ve never felt disappointment. So when the outcome in a video game isn’t what they want they will object. To be totally honest I have no clue how the younger crowd plays Fortnite. You go into a game against 99 other players and there can be only one winner. But that games great in their eyes... but in Sea of Thieves two or three players out of a total of possibly 24 kill them and they complain.

Yeah that's totally correct. I mean, I'm 23 so I guess I'm in that generation that likes participation trophies and all, but I really don't understand that mentality.

I hope that Rare does not help in perpetuating that "nobody loses" culture... Instead they should teach players a valuable lesson that fun does not depend on winning. Fun can be had while losing, too.

Turn and fight. Get the drop on the other ships and SINK THEM.
Take the loot.

These PVE whines are just awful and NEVER seem to address anything other than "I just wanna play kid-mode and don't want to deal with actual pirates, ever." BOOOOOO

I would suggest playing something else or learn to watch your surroundings

I'm feeling special that I caught your attention, but you talk like ya got rocks in your mouth and your assumptions are somewhat mistaken.

Apparently those servers already exists, and some discords even keep a rotation of passive players in them to keep people farming. Go find those and you will have your wish, the tools already exist to make it possible.
