I know there are many requests for new pets crowding the forums but here is one I have been hoping for for a while now, even since I first noticed the cat and parrot in the E3 trailer. I think Ravens would fit perfectly in Sea of Thieves.
In Old Norse religion (as well as in Celtic and Greek, though I don't know much about those), Ravens played a massive role. Odin had two ravens, Huginn (Old Norse 'thought') and Muninn (Old Norse 'memory'), who flew around the world every day to bring Odin knowledge of everything that they saw.
The Vikings used Ravens for navigation when sailing (they would fly ahead and scout for land), so I see not any reason why they wouldn't fit into the game. Ingame, you can even see the Northern Lights, so ravens would be no less fitting than that.
Tolkien also often used ravens in his stories like the ravens of Erebor, which are similar to the Ravens at the Tower of London; as well as Saruman's spies, which are probably based off of Huginn and Muninn.
Ravens are intelligent birds and are not too unlike parrots in that sense. They would be perfect, especially if Rare plans to add a variety of animals like cats (as seen in the E3 trailer) and dogs. For a PvPer like myself, it could even be intimidating to hear the deep caw of the raven as two ships and their crews battle.
