You should be able to rip wood off the holes in the ships hull which was used to repair holes to sink the ship taking 30% longer to rip the wood off then to put on it on the hole
It would be interesting as it would add additional ways to sink ships

I'd be okay with a mechanic that would allow us to pry planks off of a ship though, for sure.
*EDIT perhaps tie the mechanic to a melee weapon? if you have a sword equipped, you can wedge it between plank and hull and pry the plank off

I agree but considering the current direction of the game its almost guaranteed that anything that will break the balance will get added now.
