Reconnect feature

I don't need to say anything, the forum already spoke for itself, now its time for Rare to listen, and with the 1.0.7 server errors I believe a feature like this would be more than welcome:

Now we could probably have the ship auto anchor itself, if the entire crew leaves, instead of auto scuttling, and after the grace period of a few minutes of nobody returning it would auto scuttle.

I agree that this should be a feature.
Ships should just persist a couple minutes before despawning, giving players the chance to reconnect to a game they crashed out of.

Just be ready for all the angry threads about how people got disconnected and by the time they reconnect their ship is sinking because it rammed directly into an island or a rock in that time.

@redeyesith someone in one of the linked threads in the op suggested that instead of an auto scuttle upon cews disconnect, the ship would auto anchor itself, wouldn't garantee safety but would reduce the amount of times people would have issues with rogue ship. It could also serve as slight punish for people attempting to quit and leave the ship for any sort of reconnect exploit.

This is one the most game breaking / annoying issues right now. I hate having to instnat brig randoms when someone in my galleon disconnects. Also, as a PC player, why can't I join the game that my party is in and Xbox players can?

@horizonlegendo I believe you can, by using the xbox app on your windows 10, you will be able to look at your friend's profile or recently played users to rejoin an ongoing session with them so long they aren't full. But a simple reconnect ingame could just be much more simpler and would ajust some of the more unfair punishments for solos for a network failiure or server failure.

This is such a big issue and it makes me wonder what its gonna take to get some sort of traction on it. In most cases in the posts mentioned, everyone loves the game and wants nothing more than to keep playing it the way it is - All that we ask is that our time is not taken away by the server and then we have no option but to start again.

I had a whole day of playing solo and while I was smart and cashed in loot as I went along... I was disonnected always before the Legendary Chest. Thats 4 Legendary quests with basically everything done - all solo and all taken away with no chance of getting it back. RARE please do something.

In line with recent server issues, the reconnect feature seems more and more attractive, its quite confusing how we got no word from rare regarding a desire to add such a feature in the future or not.
