Move the skull of siren song voyage

  • I can't tell you how many times I have died/sunk because of this god awful placement for this voyage... Have someone on your ship? You know their low and have the perfect shot on them? Swap to your other weapon and behold! The dialouge box pops up!!! What an AMAZING placement. Why has this voyage been in this spot for MULTIPLE seasons with a lot of people complaning that it should be moved? And don't say "just bind your interact to a different key" Console players are VERY limited on what they can change because every button is used for something.

    This voyage should NOT be on the mast and should be in the captains table under "Special Voyages" with a server wide pop up that says the siren song voyage is available. It is in such a bad position for anyone trying to do pvp, especially on a sloop. I should not have to die because I tried to swap my weapon to kill a boarder and be met with a dialouge box. This is such a poor design and ruins the gameplay aspects.

    Seems to be an issue with the player. :/ how does a voyage cause you to die...

    Cant never understand why people stand so close to the mast and fight. OR idk..Vote to Cancel it before hand.

    Nobody will do it, or a lot wont know its there.

  • This also basically falls along the lines of the map area. If you try to switch weapons it will often make you interact with the map table. I'm shocked that this is still an issue considering how often I see it complained about

  • @burnbacon This is the second topic TODAY talking about console controls messing up gameplay. I can't say I fully agree with this persons perspectives about where it should be moved to, but it's definitely valid to complain about.

    As discussed in some of those posts, the real issue is secondary interact and swap sharing the same bind. Searching for that topic separately will produce many more results regarding the issue.

  • I agree with your idea, especially for players who use controllers.
    We really need to move the task to another location.
    At the same time, there is another issue.
    This damn task.
    Accepting the mission only requires one crew member, but giving up the mission requires the consent of all players.

  • Honestly, I agree with this. Maybe stick the note to the captain's table or the railing next to the compass or something a little more out of the way if you have to, but twice in the past week alone during a fight with ancient megs both my crewmate and I got caught on the stupid dialogue box mid-fight.

    There has to be a better placement for it than shoulder-level on the main mast.

  • Yep Briggsy on the mast pole is a pain in the butt especially in combat and your mast gets hit.... I have hit it a few times even on PC.

    They are on this forum for one reason, to disagree with everything and everyone.

    It gets blatantly obvious when they say: "Cant never understand why people stand so close to the mast and fight."
    It's pure rage bait by someone who doesn't care about people's actual feedback, just here to be annoying to people posting their genuine feedback.
    I wonder if going to their profile and hitting that "block user" would hide all their comments forever 🤔😊

    Back to the topic. People asked for this quest to be moved away from the mast within the first week(s) of them adding it to the game. But they never did. I hope they do soon!

    This is part reason why barely anyone participates in this quest, ever. Soon as the quest spawns, most controller players cancel the quest immediately.

    Place it within the quest table like you said, and when it's active/ready to be voted for, show a pop-up message, similar to when pop-up Plunder spawns during Community Weekends, saying "Briggsy Quest now available in Special Voyages".
    Or just place it directly into players quest radial by default but add an additional Game Settings option to disable the maps to show up for you.

    The quest itself needs an overhaul for majority of players wanting to do it ever again.

    I do try to always cancel it, but it spawns at the WORST times, and it REQUIRES a majority vote which is time consuming when you're actively dealing with pvp and or boarders. I really do hope they decide to move it soon because it's such a pain on a sloop during pvp.

    Seems to me you only want to cause problems, you clearly want to start something and this topic has been brought up many times since the voyage has been released. It is not an issue with the player, more of the double bound swap and secondary interact that controller players HAVE to deal with. If you would actually put 2 and 2 together and think about it for more than half a second you would realize that this has been an issue for literal YEARS.

    Can never understand why people fight so close to the mast? Ever wonder where the mast is on a sloop? In the MIDDLE of the fighting area, but I mean to each their own I guess. And you can't really cancel it before hand if it isn't active and spawns in during the middle of say an hourglass fight.

    So many people have been asking for this voyage to be moved since it dropped, because of the double bount secondary interact and weapon swap on controller.

    Nobody does it in the first place, and "a lot won't know it's there" did you actually read or just nit pick what you wanted to? because if you atually read I said AND I quote "with a server wide pop up that says the siren song voyage is available"

    Now if you don't want to actually be useful, don't go replying on someones post and contradict yourself more times that you can actually count.

  • @giddybarbecue67 He has also said he has no idea why people would fight near the map table. I'm sure if you dig hard enough he has said there is no reason to fight on every single part of the boat.

  • @potatosord I wouldn't doubt it, some people just want to cause problems and he is one of them! I hope they do something about this voyage soon cause when playing on a sloop it gets in the way 5x as often.

  • @giddybarbecue67 I think they need to worry less about the voyage and more about fixing the controls, especially considering I know I have seen devs playing using a controller on stream.

  • @potatosord Ever played terraria on console? Something like their controls needs to be a thing in this game for controller players. For the secondary interact I should be able to bind 2 buttons for it like for example: Back + Y OR X + Y something along those lines. Not JUST Y because that opens an OCEAN of issues with further additions to the game.

  • @giddybarbecue67 Any single press would likely lead back to the same issue. Plus if they choose a double it has to be a combo of buttons that have no reason to be pressed together , even accidentally.

  • @potatosord exactly, they need to make it to where we can bind two buttons for certain controls. Because yes the real issue is the double bind of weapon swap and secondary interact.

  • @giddybarbecue67 Giving the players the ability to create their own binds would help, I don't know why they don't have the options open.

  • @potatosord Your guess is as good as mine! But the issue really does need to be addressed.
