Move the note to the captains cabin. The option clashes with the cannon and when fighting on deck. I have just tried changing weapon during pvp and ended up reading the note instead, causing me to die and then sink. Why put it so close to other options and in an active zone of the ship?

A better fix would be allowing weapons swap and secondary to be different binds on a controller.

How So? It off to the side, away from where most combat happens, (near anchor or below deck)

Makes me wonder what gonna happen when you face a crew who has crates and chests all over the ship and you keep opening them xD
