I wanted to reach to the devs so they could hear this story. Today I had the greatest experience playing sea of thieves and I believe what happened today may have been one of the only times it’s happened in this games history. Today as my friend and I sailed in our sloop we ended up forming an alliance with another sloop. While in this alliance we decided to grind out some fort of the damned and got 13 skulls of destiny. On our way we encountered a reaper ship who we very much thought would be the end of us but instead they played the banjo and joined our alliance. By the time we got to the fort of the damned we had two sloops and a reaper brig in our alliance and eventually while grinding out the 13 runs at fort of the damned we picked up 2 more ships including one more sloop and a galleon for a total of 5 ships in the alliance. This is crazy because 5/6 ships in the lobby were now allied and fighting together for shared loot. After about 6 hours of playing together if not more (lol we played for awhile grinding) we collectively sold our 1 million gold fortune and also headed to plunder valley were we all got the gilded beard and shared some grog and lit off as many fireworks as we could buy from the outpost.
