I don't understand how games like Escape from Tarkov, Tears of the Kingdom and Red Dead Redemption 2 can create worlds with so much to explore when Sea of Thieves doesn't even have one island with something worth looking for. The only reward for exploration of a full island in Sea of Thieves is just some 732 gold chest. Also, the killing monster loop is more of a nuisance than a threat that feels satisfying to defeat. Just meat sponges that bother you. Its not fun. Or hard. And doesn't vary at all.
Once I realized islands are all the same to an extent with no unique reward to bring to the table, not even proper content (no more than some easter egg), I stopped caring about exploring the game. And I honestly stopped caring for the game.
Escape from Tarkov creates a whole map with tens of thousands of intricacies. And that is one of many. An island in Sea of Thieves isn't even remotely close to match a portion of it.
Anyways I got my legendary gold ghost curse and can defend my friends form enemies now so I'm done with the game until I see any growth that is actually worth exploring for. Or anybody from Rare hinting at plans to actually enrichen the islands. That is just me. Idk about others but thats me. I'm sure the game isn't intended to be that way. With worthwhile exploration. It should be. And if it was I'd like the game. Thats all.
The normal gameplay loop of sailing/teleporting with friends to complete step by step quests for money is fun. But it doesn't need to be all the game has to offer. And it shouldn't be.
Thats some of my thoughts and reasons for why I just can't be bothered with SoT and am playing other games.
