Within Sea of Thieves, a pirate is defined by their unique look, it showcases their individual stylistic choices and achievements. I believe more customization options should be added to help pirates further express their own unique pirate and tastes.
Gloves, Rings, and Nails

Within the clothing chest, I believe rings should take precedence over gloves when it comes to cosmetic layering. With the current system, gloves take precedence over rings, which means that unless you remove your pirates gloves, you will not see your rings. Because rings allow pirates to customize both their left and right hands, it will then allow pirates to wear rings on one hand, and a glove on the other.
Furthermore, the rings sections should also be given a 'empty' hand option by default, where rather than no rings being displayed at all (and therefore gloves being visible), instead that hand will display with no gloves. This means pirates can choose to have one hand gloved, whilst another is free. -
Nail polish is another small customization option that should be added. Its exactly how it sounds, and could even be customized to each finger. Whilst nail polish isn't something most other pirates would notice, given how small fingernails are, it would allow pirates to customize their hands more, which is especially important given your hands are the most visible part of your pirate during gameplay.
Undergarments

Male pirates should be given an option to have a bra-wrap around the chest, just like female pirates do. This would allow male pirates to have extra customization among cosmetics (think of how when Duke was kicked out of the Bilge Rats, he had bandages on his chest covering his Bilge Rat tattoos)

More color variety for underwear. There's only 8 colors, and a wider variety would allow pirates to better choose a color that works for them, especially those who wear underwear like a pair of shorts.
Earrings and Necklaces

Quintessential pirate fashion, however we still have yet to see earrings or necklaces in the game.

Necklaces could be customized to display above or below a shirt or jacket for extra customization. Furthermore, they could be used as a mark to display ones allegiance to a trading company (like a Gold Hoarders key, a Order of Souls eye, an Athena talisman, etc), or represent ones deeds and commendations (like unlocking the necklaces the Forsaken Alliance wore after letting Grace Morrow know about the fates of the alliance members).

I believe earrings might be a upcoming feature, as the Pride Month 2025 article has a lady wearing earrings, the Smugglers League all wear elaborate earrings, and the Custom Seas promotional art (the one where a guy is looking down at some water in his hand) shows the main person in the image with an earring. So hopefully we do get earrings, as they are sorely needed in a pirate game.
The Skeleton Curse

ODIN299 has a great post about how the skeleton curse should be improved (https://www.seaofthieves.com/community/forums/topic/178775/skeleton-curse-customization-options-rework), and given that the skeleton curse is arguably the more popular of the PvP curses, additional effort should be put into how pirates can customize their individual skeletons. By having only 4 customizable parts of the skeleton curse, pirates start looking too alike after a while.

Furthermore, 6 skeleton curse cosmetics lay unused. This includes a sailors hook, sailors pegleg, brown pants with black boots, and a set of Order of Bone and Blade skeleton pieces as seen on Esther Smisdom's ArtStation page (https://www.artstation.com/artwork/6L9e0x). For a curse that is limited in how it can be customized, 6 missing cosmetics is a lot.
