Pirate bard Merrick, a true survivor of the Sea of Thieves, has decided to build on his experiences by founding a new Trading Company known as The Hunter’s Call. This ragtag band boasts experts in hunting, fishing and cooking and would like all pirates to master the same skills. Handsome rewards await those who can catch the rarest creatures and cook the finest dishes!
Fishing with Friends
Fishing is a popular pirate pastime, since it can be enjoyed on islands or aboard ships – and results in something to eat if you’re any good at it! Use bait to lure a fish and try to reel it in without snapping your line. Then show off your finest catches to friends, rivals or unsuspecting strangers.

What’s Cooking?
Pirates love to eat, that’s common knowledge. While a raw banana might be the staple for many buccaneers, why not learn to cook other foods and discover delicious recipes? Gather some fruit or go hunting for animal meat, then light a campfire and get started!
Whether you’re cooking in the wild or in your ship’s pot, various types of meat and fruit can be cooked to make them much more effective at healing your pirate when consumed. Provided, of course, you don’t undercook things. You’ll soon find out if you got it wrong…
Hunting and Gathering
In a treacherous world, pirates need to be able to fend for themselves and, where necessary, scavenge to survive. Hunting allows you to do this, starting out as a Fledgling Hunter and establishing a reputation with The Hunter’s Call as you gather experience in the field. It’s a practical skill, as well-cooked meat always comes in handy for healing or selling.
Wild chickens and pigs are just the beginning – you can also gather meat from snakes and sharks fought off before they can finish you first. Of course, there are even bigger rewards for hunters who feel confident enough to turn apex predators into prey and seek out the highly prized meat of deep sea beasts!
The More the Merrick
The Hunter’s Call was founded by the wanderer Merrick, who famously tussled with (and lost half of his body mass to) The Hungering One, the first Megalodon to menace the Sea of Thieves. Merrick’s back with his family and like-minded friends to claim a modest slice of revenge – by encouraging fishing, hunting and cooking across the seas!
The Hunter’s Call is Merrick’s new Trading Company, aimed at rewarding pirates who cook up great food, catch the rarest fish and hunt down animals from the humble pig to the deadly Kraken.
