Discord with a private server of Sea of Thieves where peoaple are all ally (free farming PVE)

  • I found this discord server where people are all allied and farm (also afk thanks to alliance) all the day without any risk of pvp cause admin ban any kind of pvp this is just unfair they have a private server and they can free farm in pve basically, devs need to stop this and remove all the stuff gained by this system otherwise the game will lose any sense or give to all the chance to free farm this is so bad shame on you useless to play this game when people can free farm on pve servers.

  • Don’t worry about it, this has been a thing near the beginning of sot, and this isn’t against any rules they are just using the tools given to them.

If you don’t like that, just try to infiltrate the server and destroy the alliance

  • @lou-enderdragon Nah this is not right I always farm in the legit way fighting for my stuff I don't want to infiltrate or ask for mercy to join in their elitist club they should give this otpion to everybody or they should delete all the stuff gained in this way that is close to cheating) this is so sad and bad on so many levels and devs letting this happens without any consequensces let me drop any kind of will to play, glad i paid this games few bucks.

  • The devs have said that the percentage of people that play in these servers is so little that they don't feel the need to do anything about it.

  • There is no progression in private servers.

  • @mferr11 9000 people on that sever and there are many servers if this is a little percentage on the average 30K player on steam and it's ok i don't see the sense of playing on the official server, than people says that making pve server is useless but there are already pve server but only for some kind of elite clubs make elitist stuff on the game is so damn bad and justifying that stuff is even worse, so i can't play with more than 4 friends on a official server but they can have private server and doing what they want and gettins stuff they can use on official server, never seen stuff like that on any game makes no sense but if devs are ok...it's ok.

  • @galactic-geek no dude ther is progression my friend is on that server he started to play sot with me and he's 75 (pirate legend in 1 day) with all the rep and a friend of mine with 400 hr is 60 he got more or less 80hr and he's 75 with all rep and got milions of gold and he's also milionaire on official server so there is progression and the fact that he has most of the skins of the game with 80hr played is the proof.

  • I agree alliance servers shouldn't be allowed

But this i predict will be dealt with once private servers drop as to get the number of people who exploit a broken system under the disguise of "tools not rules" like any other exploiter does

But i predict and i may very well be wrong but if i were to be logical and maximize gain

I would revoke their pve mode and give them a shoddier version that they have to pay for

Then they can enjoy everything they did before except they wont gain gold or rep

If there is one issue i have with rare is the double standard they have with not allowing pve servers officially but allowing it unofficially through exploiting the alliance systems to create a pve server

This is my biggest gripe with the devs

The devs have said that the percentage of people that play in these servers is so little that they don't feel the need to do anything about it.

But there is an issue with that aswell

You know eventually the number of people doing this may rise and suddenly there are too many to the point where it actually disrupts the game

Heres the issue that will be doubled if not trippled or worse

If they choose to deal with it when the numbers are few the consequence will be small but if they wait well

Then the issue will ofcourse be larger

This is how i see it

Having once gotten merged into one where i got threatend to leave and constantly chased down this is one of the reasons alliance servers can become disruptive

I think these servers needs to be dealt with now

    Just my opinion though

Well i wouldn't go as far as saying rare is pathetic or even pitiful

I certainly understand why this isn't their top priority to fix right now

But its just a gripe of mine that bothers me

    Proof please.

Alliance-wide servers are not private servers, nor are they officially sanctioned - furthermore, they can be disrupted and cannot ban you. Discord servers are likewise not officially part of SoT either - they have their own set of rules. Except, of course, for the official SoT Discord itself - which frowns upon this kind of behavior.

Private servers in SoT do have restricted progression and can currently only be accessed via a password.

  • @galactic-geek told you my friend started with me and he's 75 with all reputation and he got milions of gold, i'm just 42/50 with reps and a friend that was already on sot with 400hr he's 60 how he can be 75 with 80hrs played? He got ashen dragons skin full set complete.. in 80hrs and most of the skins i know cause i play with him on official...i will do screenshot and post it here

Alliance servers start in three ways.
These servers are live servers that give rep, achievements, and gold. These have happened ever since the alliance mechanic.

    1. You have a single ship in a server. You approach another ship and become an alliance. The other crew is going to leave game they are done playing. One of your crew joins that ship. You create looking to play post/or invite friends to join second ship. While playing with 2 ships a 3rd random ship joins alliance. That ships crew is going to leave. Repeat as above invite 1 crew member onto ship you have a 3rd ship. These usually fall apart due to different players coming and going that are invited through looking to play post.

    2. Multiple Xbox owner. Starts all 3 Xbox at his home with same start time. Has 2-3 ships on same server.

    3. Toxic way from discord group. Infection takeover of server.
1 ship on server. Usually galleon. Finds ship asks for one of its crew to join ship. 1 player from Galleon joins crew. New player joins Galleon.
Creates alliance. Discord Player in new ship drops anchor, barrels ship, sets it on fire, etc. Original player on 2nd ship quits from frustration. 2nd ship acquired.
Repeats tactic on 3rd ship. This time new discord player on 3 rd ship troll tactics don’t work. Galleon rolls up and spawns kill crew while discord player drops anchor all the time. Spawn killed players original crew leave 3 rd ship acquired.
4 th ship approached “hey I have friend that want to play can he join you.“ He is added to your crew. He trolls ship. Gets brigged doesn’t leave game. Sits in brig and watches map table with spy glass reports your location via map table to discord group. Three ships track you down spawn kill you. Sink you etc. Only way to prevent your location is to move the map table to corner of the map only sees ship spinning.

These are things I have seen, participated in, and been attacked from a discord group.
Mainly method 1 random group alliance created on server.
You see post all the time alliance server.
Toxic way has happened to me. Total server takeover.
Multiple Xbox owner I have played once. Invited several times to join but they forget I’m pc player and they choose Xbox only settting...lol.

I'm a SoT veteran from the alpha build and have always known how server-wide alliances start. I don't need it to be explained to me.

There was simply confusion regarding the OP's initial post where he mentioned private servers when actually referring to alliance servers - which are clearly 2 different things. I was simply clarifying that difference.

As mentioned in my last post, I have been sailing since the alpha, and I still don't have everything - I missed out on the early Ferryman loot, the Overachiever sails, a few Twitch drops, etc. and am still not max level in Athena or Reaper's Bones, nor am I anywhere close to completing all of the commendations. Do I worry about that though? Not really - I have enjoyed my time relaxing upon the Sea and taking my time.

If others choose to take every advantage they can get to grind things quickly and then believe there's nothing left to do, then they have only themselves to blame.

Worry about yourself and your own progress, not that of others. Their progress does not affect your gameplay, so find something better to concern yourself with.

  • @galactic-geek you still try to avoid the problem focusing on me and this is kinda sad, It's not about me and what i think it's about justice, or they give a chance to everybody to have a private server where they can free farm (tons of people are asking for that) or to no one easy to understand keep defeding this is just sad and unfair for all the players who paid for this game dosen't matter if affect me or not.

  • Doesn’t ruin or bother my own experience. So leave it alone.

  • I was a mod in one of these servers super early on, they are mostly to farm Athena rep. Atleast that was the case 2-3 years ago.

I'm sure they are used for everything these days, no real damage done. Makes it so the people that are scared of interaction can atleast play the game.

  • @saltypretzel552 I'm not defending it; I'm just telling you how things are. If I were defending it, I wouldn't even he here. I'd be too busy grinding on an alliance server.
