    I am glad you enjoy a half-finished empty game. I can't comprehend how people can find fun in such empty games like these.

    When I crew up with my friends the chat on discord, I say chat but it's usually abuse, it adds to the atmosphere of the game. It almost hides the fact that we are doing the same sort of thing over and over again. Almost. It's still there in the background but seeing as we haven't explored all of the islands, or all of the missions, then it stays there. It's fun in a sharing with mates way. One steers, one sits atop the mast on look out, one does things with the sails and the other plays music at us for annoyance value. We laugh, we giggle like school girls and we have fun. We also die a lot as we are all old and should know better.

    But...

    If I'm on my own then the game is a different beast altogether. Pick up quest, go do it, come back. And repeat. It's dull. very dull. I do try and liven things up by firing myself at big rocks or aiming into the storm but it's generally dull.

    So I can see both sides. We knew content would be lacking at the start but look at it this way...you've paid you 120 dollars, that's it. All the DLC that is coming, will be yours for free. All the updates. Free. All the bug fixes. Free. (Ignore this one). Free.

    A game that will get better and will fill up with stuff as time goes on.

    Look at GTA Online. Full of griefers and little else when it started and now full to the brim with everything a modern criminal about the town needs. It's still got loads of griefers though. Sorry.

Gamers accepting bad things in video games, has ruined the market right now. It took a major protest of battlefront to even start trying to get back on track.

    So sure people can have fun with this game, but blindly accepting its value at the price tag is where I draw the line. You can be having fun all you want, but look at how long it took them to come out with this game. Look at how poorly the maps are balanced, and how people are just pvping more than doing missions.

    If you can accept the content for this price value. You are part of the problem with developers getting away with half released games. I will call you out on it.

    I'm not supporting the games lack of content, i'm supporting the game. I played world of warcraft for over 10 years. it wouldn't be anywhere near what it is now if it were for people supporting it that whole time. Rare isn't asking for a subscription fee here. they're just asking for people to play and enjoy their game. If you can't, fine.. but don't try to "witch hunt" and call people out like they're somehow sheeps ruining the industry by simply enjoying something. that's the dumbest thing I've ever heard.

    Its exactly how the market works.
    People go "Oh, I have £50. Should I spend it on GAME A or GAME B?" And I hate to say it, but if GAME A has as much content as Sea of Thieves upon release, and GAME B has as much content as Assassin's Creed Origins upon release, you're frankly a fool who should not be trusted with money if you buy GAME A, no matter what type of game it is or what genre you like, you have paid far too much for the amount you have gotten.

    I'd be mad too if I had paid 70 €. I haven't, though, I got game pass for two years for less than 70 €, so I can enjoy what I get in the game. When everybody, every review, every streamer, almost everybody on this forum complains about lack of content, then it's valid criticism. And until the devs acknowledge that the s***storm will obviously continue. Just saying "this game will evolve over time and was always meant to do so" isn't enough. They need to come out and deliver a plan of what they will add and when, if they want the game to survive (and I think that's what we all want, those that are angry and those that love playing the current game).

    As it's been stated in multiple posts, but will be stated again. The forums exist for both sides, those that like it and those that don't. While you might not like the "don't." and it tends to bother you, just know that those are the players that help to sculpt the game. The ones who accept it as it is are the ones saying "Everything is fine." however, it doesn't seem to be. The multitude of reviews/player feedback should be evidence enough for that.

    The forum however gives you plenty of freedom, one of which is to not view a post and instead, move on. Making a post about other posts you hate is what is known as "Flame Bait." and it will do nothing but summon moths to the flame, aka the people you dislike on the forums in the first place. Play the game if you like it, but don't judge others for their opinion on a forum designed to give it.

    Again, another person defeated with sound logic. Every little thing you tossed out. I easily argue laps around you. You questioned, and I answered. You said you supported the game. I called you out for supporting a game with a lack of content.

    Rare is not skilled enough to handle todays gaming market. This is proof of this game, that they charged way too much for. Friday the 13th The game did the same thing. Look what that got it? Hardly anyone plays it anymore.

    I am not even going to laugh at your empty threats on slapping me. I am just going to smile and say. Your stance are weak, you can't argue out of a paper bag, and I called you out on supporting a game that most people feel robbed them out of money.

    @carcinogenetxc Not really, assassins creed and SoT have completely different offerings. I wouldn't buy AC:O if i wanted to play a multiplayer co-op game.

    So, here is my closing arguments to both Rager and the OP (and whoever else is reading)

    I love this game for what it is currently, but I will not deny that it needs so much more than it has. I agree with almost every point that people have brought up. I also feel like this game has the benefit of being a great platform for continuous expansion, unlike some games that need complete overhauls or sequels to carry them.

    Rare is dedicating themselves to this game, look at their headquarters.. it's all SOT. they want to make this into something great, why not let them get to work? If they haven't done anything worth mentioning in 6,8,10 months or a year from now, the video game world has a way of sorting itself out.

    the last game that I was this excited to play was the newest Twisted Metal, and david jaffee straight up abandoned the studio 2 months after launch. Let that sink in. this isn't just Rare/microsoft pumping out a game to make a bottom line. they're clearly invested in it.

    I never once suggested you would, and if that was your take away then I urge you to re-read my post until you get it through your head that spending £50 on a game with nothing in it is a dumb choice when you could spend it on a game with longer than a day's playtime in it, no matter what the content is. Either way, no matter which aspect you pull out of Sea of Thieves, there is always another game that does it cheaper.
    You're a fool if you think this was worth your money.
